I integrate psychodynamic therapy, attachment work, and cognitive behavioral strategies to help you build awareness, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I help high-functioning adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are beneath the roles they’ve been carrying for years. Many of my clients are used to being the strong one, the reliable one, or the one others depend on, but internally feel exhausted, anxious, or stuck. I specialize in working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship patterns.

Hello and thank you for your interest in starting therapy! I work well with clients who are motivated and driven to change their lives for the better. I often assign small homework items to help facilitate the process of growth. I'm able to connect best with clients who are open with their concerns and value an insight-oriented approach. I especially enjoy working with college students, parents, young adults, healthcare workers, and those in the midst of a transition such as starting a new job, moving, grief, separating, graduating, etc.

I began my career working as a school based clinician working with children and adolescents. After gaining an understanding of each client's needs, I guide and support them in implementing the changes necessary to improve peer and family relationships, emotional health, and overall quality of life at home and at school. By selecting and tailoring the appropriate therapeutic approach, the client is encouraged to work towards achieving their personal goals for healing, growth and wellness. These approaches may involve therapeutic play (for younger children and adolescents) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Your story is threaded with mystery and purpose. Sometimes we journey through dark landscapes of chaos and unraveling. Things happen: an injustice, we loose our job, our health declines, the place we call home disappears like sand between our fingers, we lose the ones we love, or we are betrayed by someone we trusted. Suddenly, we are faced with the shocking absurdity of reality. "I can't believe this is my life! Please, don't let this be my life!" When we are lost, the importance of someone bearing witness to our severely-wounded self is invaluable. I consider it an honor to walk alongside of you and your one, unique story.

Healing from trauma isn’t just about talking – it’s about reclaiming your sense of safety in both body and mind. When you’ve experienced trauma or grown up in an environment of abuse or neglect, that feeling of safety is the first thing to go. This can lead to deep patterns of self-doubt, low self-worth, and difficulty asking for your needs to be met. You may feel like you’re moving through life on autopilot, disconnected, as if watching from the outside. Even in calm moments, it might feel impossible to fully relax or feel joy. You might struggle to understand why you feel the way you do – which can bring confusion or shame.

Hello! Therapy and choosing to engage with oneself on an intimate and vulnerable level can be an intimidating and frustrating experience, but making that decision, for yourself, can ultimately be one of the most rewarding things you can do. Choosing to know yourself and be compassionate towards your behavior and experiences can lead to not only tangible change but also fulfillment and a more well-rounded and positive outlook on life.

We all face experiences that are often difficult, painful, and even traumatic. So many of us face these situations feeling alone, overwhelmed, ashamed, and vulnerable. I believe healing and transformation comes from within, by reconnecting with our inner wisdom, becoming more self-aware, and growing more in self-love and compassion. Pain and vulnerability can also teach us a lot about ourselves and be incredibly healing. If you are struggling with relationship problems, life transitions, depression, anxiety, past traumas, feel stuck, or grieving the loss of a loved one, I can help you face these challenges.

I have expertise in the integration of Eastern and Western psychotherapies and philosophies with modern psychodynamic principles, Non-Dual approaches, and contemplative and meditative practices.
I provide tele-therapy services in MD, DC, VA, NY, Fl, DE, VT, & WV. It is my belief and practice that we are more than our limited thinking minds. If you have tried other traditional therapies and find them lacking, you may find my Transpersonal , Jungian, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral approach to be of benefit. The transpersonal is defined as "experiences in which the sense of identity, or self, extends beyond the individual or personal to encompass greater meaning. This can include exploring non ordinary states of consciousness.

**Currently Not Accepting New Therapy Clients; Only Accepting New Testing Clients** It can be challenging being a strongly opinionated person in a society that may not see all you have to offer. Maybe your family, teachers, or even friends did not appreciate you speaking up or did not accept you for your size or shape or identities. Our society may have made it even more difficult for you to thrive in ways that you used to or ways that you always wished you could. It might be time to get more support to live a truly happier life.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
