Practice specialties include counseling (family, group and individual), Applied Behavior Analysis, Positive Behavior Support and cognitive/behavioral approaches. We also offer innovative, role-play social groups that combine virtual practices with tangible materials. Groups are fun, productive and highly engaging.
Deciding to ask for professional help with a personal or relationship problem can be a bit intimidating. Please feel free to contact me for a brief consultation to discuss whether or not I may be the best fit for you. If it seems that I'm not the best fit, I will gladly direct you to other resources. It's important that you feel safe, respected, and in capable, compassionate care. I work with individuals in an eclectic approach; that is, I integrate elements from several theoretical orientations to help people solve emotional problems, change behavior, and cope with stressful life circumstances, including relationship problems, work stress, and life transitions - to name a few.
Are you ready to experience more joy and connection in your life? Do you want to tap into your resilience and live the life you imagine? I work with individuals, kids, and families to build their connection, joy and resilience.
Lets embark on a journey to help you heal from the inside out. Are you struggling from the effects of a difficult childhood? Do you have coping mechanisms that enabled you to survive as a child that are impacting your relationships negatively as an adult? Do you feel like the same set of unhealthy relationship patterns show up with different people? Have you gotten to a place in your recovery where the tools that you normally use are no longer working? Allow me to walk down the road less travelled with you because together we can discover how to help you set boundaries and have healthy relationships.
—I Currently Have Limited Openings — Feelings of anxiety, depression, and grief are totally normal responses in these difficult times. My goal as a therapist is to guide clients through whatever is keeping them from living their happiest lives — whether the issue is more recent/due to COVID, or a deeper issue that has been draining someone’s energy for years (or a lifetime). I operate from a collaborative, strengths-based perspective to help clients understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I help clients develop strategies to mitigate anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD symptoms that interfere with their well-being.
Are you weary of feeling lonely, tired, sad? Perhaps you're scared or confused and don't know what to do about your marriage--the two of you are almost like strangers, or you fight all the time, or you're facing infidelity? Maybe you know your child is troubled, and you're not quite sure how to be of help. A special strength of mine is healing connections--connections between people as well as personal connections to the inner self--whether I see you in a couple, a family, or as an individual.
I am well-versed in working with people of all ages and life experiences, including those coping with depression and anxiety, stress, loss, lack of motivation, adjustment, trauma, and life transitions. I am particularly interested in working with individuals on early adulthood life transitions including college, early career, engagement/early marriage, and pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. I work with individuals to build awareness and insight, find effective coping skills, and have healthy, satisfying relationships.
My down to earth style, arising from over 25 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and children, creates a comfortable, safe environment where together we learn to understand you. I provide individual, couples and family therapy to enable you to better cope with life's continuing challenges. I have extensive experience with individuals who are having trouble coping with depression, anxiety and trauma history. I also enjoy working with couples who are struggling in their relationships. I have a certificate in Advanced Trauma Treatment and I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work with couples.
Do you live in a culture that is different from your culture of origin? Do you feel it is hard to be fully understood? Are you in the middle of a conflict with others? Sometimes, we feel lonely, lost, and disempowered when going through life transitions, good or bad. Transition could look like a divorce, a loss of a love one, a new cultural/sexual identity, or even an exciting new job. You don’t have to go through those transitions alone. Therapy is a safe space for you to explore the complex emotions come with the changes. If you are not sure what you are experiencing, therapy also allows you to get closer to the unknown.
Please email me to schedule a tele-therapy session. Does something stand in the way of your work, love, or play? Do you simply feel "stuck"? For several years, I've had the privilege of helping others navigate challenges and achieve their goals. Together, we can work to understand your unique experiences and develop tools to better resolve struggles and mitigate setbacks.
