You're having a hard time launching into adult life. You're floundering - not really sure which way to go, how to make a move, or why you should. Stuck in a rut, it's getting harder to keep up with your obligations, like work, academic demands and other routines. You're here because you've had enough. You're ready to dig in and find your purpose.

Is there something holding you back from the experience of feeling fully alive, safe, and satisfied in your own life; in your own skin? Experiencing internal and external difficulties long enough and under enough stress, we become disconnected to what makes life worth living. I believe my job is to provide a safe space and be a supportive, caring, non-judgmental presence as a guide and collaborator. Together we can face what is hurting or not helping you. I have worked over the years in a variety of settings with adults, children, teens, families and couples from diverse backgrounds and identities.

I use AEDP, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness approaches, tailored to what you need.
You're a woman who looks fine from the outside. You're capable, you show up, you're the one everyone leans on. But underneath there's chronic anxiety, exhaustion that sleep can't fix, or a quiet loss of yourself. Maybe perimenopause or menopause is part of the picture. You don't need someone to just listen while you vent. You need practical tools and a therapist who understands without needing a long explanation. You want to feel like yourself again.

I am a level 2 Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy therapist and am trained in EMDR.
Do you feel stuck? Do you often find yourself feeling sad, angry, or irritable? Perhaps you struggle to even know what or how you should feel. When we’ve experienced traumas, we learn to live in fear, doubt ourselves, and question our self-worth. We can even lose our sense of who we are. These struggles might be new, or so old that you can’t remember feeling any other way. Regardless of how you got here, you are ready for change. You don’t have to do this on your own. I have helped many people find their strength, confidence, and a sense of meaning in their lives.

My AEDP approach builds rapport rapidly and to me, get's the the point of change as quickly as possible where a client may find less formality but also more focused work on emotional change.
Life can be challenging, both within ourselves and in our connections with others. It often feels daunting to reach out for support — yet doing so is already a meaningful movement toward change. In therapy, I look beyond the shame, guilt, anxiety, doubt, and trauma that might bring you here. I also look for the strengths, openings, and subtle sparks of growth that show up even in the midst of struggle. I work with trauma, grief, addiction, emotional difficulties, life changes, and relational stress. My specialties include addiction recovery, PTSD, emotional disturbances, and personal development.

In the therapy room, connection is key to transformation. I create emotional safety through building relationship first then use my expertise in trauma informed care to address what's holding you back or what's keeping you trapped on this rollercoaster ride you don't remember signing up for.
Therapy with me starts the moment you walk into the room and I aim to empower you through truly identifying and processing what you've been holding close to your chest. I offer you the mirror, held with compassion, and the powerful transformation that comes with looking into it.

Who is AEDP therapy for?
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.
Why do people need AEDP?
People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.
What happens in AEDP therapy?
Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.
What problems does AEDP treat?
AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
