How can I be of help? Maybe you can put the answer into words easily, or maybe you know only that something is not right. Whatever your situation, I invite you to come in and talk with me. I have had my doctorate for over 20 years and have worked with clients in a variety of settings. Together, we will try to understand what is going on and what might be helpful. Because the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of much of the work of therapy we'll also see if we work well together.
I am PSYPACT certified which means I can practice teletherapy in 40 states. More states consider allowing PSYPACT licensed psychologists yearly.

I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors experiencing depression, anxiety, and issues related to parenting, trauma, technology/social media use, peer conflict, intimate partner violence/conflict, and major life transitions (eg. first-time parenting, leaving for college, returning to work, divorce, empty nest). I created and taught a graduate-level course at Johns Hopkins on social media's effect on mental health. My clinical training focused on survivors and offenders of sexual and domestic violence. I was awarded a fellowship for my work with teen moms on parenting, life skills, and college readiness.

Language & words matter. We define ourselves & our worldview with our words. How do we talk to ourselves? What does our inner critic sound like? Is that voice in your mind coming from you, or someone else? Is that voice supporting your goals, or keeping your nervous system stuck? The voice in our head and the words it speaks to us are habitual; it can cause a negative cycle if not explored. Therapy is an opportunity to engage in a healing relationship with that voice in your head. I am here to support you, guide you through that journey, and help break that negative cycle.

Thank you for looking at my ad and considering the process of psychotherapy/counseling for your life. Many of my new clients have spoken about the anxiety they experienced when they decided to seek additional support through a therapist. I have come to recognize that this anxiety mostly comes from each client really hoping they can find the right match for themselves. Hopefully this brief biography will facilitate your decision about whether we could match up nicely. Please review my website which will provide you with a greater understanding of my experiences.

I am an EMDR trained therapist who specializes in helping people work through complex and relational trauma. I offer an integrative approach to the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges and life transitions. If you "think about your feelings" a lot, and have trouble "feeling your feelings" Perhaps you've developed some not so helpful coping skills to keep yourself safe, but now they no longer serve you. If so, we might be a great match! My approach is rooted in somatic experiencing and IFS parts work and that informs my work with individuals around their families of origin and difficult past experiences.
