This one life is yours. Unexpected change, loss, suffering and even growth can destabilize and disorient. Participating in psychotherapy can provide valuable relief, perspective, and healing. Art therapy offers another way to process emotions, explore experiences, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel distant or difficult to access—especially for those who feel stuck, emotionally disconnected, or unsure how to express what they are carrying inside.
I provide a supportive and creative therapeutic space where children, teens, and adults can explore emotions through both conversation and art-making. No prior artistic experience is needed. The focus is not on creating something “good” or aesthetic, but on finding meaning, connection, and healing through expression.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Professional Art Therapist.
I work well with adults who notice patterns of adapting, masking, or trying to push through distress while privately struggling with anxiety or depression symptoms. Many have compensated for these symptoms through perfectionism, people-pleasing, excessive worry or avoidance. Often, my clients feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite explain—whether it’s overthinking, emotional distress, or difficulty feeling secure in relationships. Commonly, clients I work with are self-aware and willing to work toward their goals, yet are uncertain how to move beyond long-standing survival strategies.

My clinical approach is rooted in the belief that every individual is unique and requires a personalized therapeutic experience. I am passionate about tailoring my interventions to meet the distinctive needs of my clients, recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach is not effective in addressing the complexities of their lives. I specialize in working with both adolescents and adults navigating high-stress environments and life transitions.

Using art therapy and IFS, we make emotions visible, understand what makes you tick, and build practical ways forward with compassion and honesty.
You’re sharp, capable, and used to carrying a lot. You think your way through most things but feel disconnected, exhausted, or stuck in patterns you can’t logic your way out of. On the outside you function well; inside you may feel invisible, overwhelmed, or really lonely. Our work together will combine thoughtful conversation with real-time tools that help you understand your patterns, process stress and old wounds, expand your emotional range, and build relationships and a life that don’t depend on you holding it all alone.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
