I bring warmth and wisdom to the process of change, employing my significant experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety and eating disorders. First and foremost, I build trusting relationships with my clients, offering them a safe, non-judgmental space to explore issues, and express thoughts and process feelings.

Most of us have times in our lives where we feel completely overwhelmed, outnumbered and alone. We've tried to change, but we're still struggling. We know we can't stay in this place, it's too painful, but how do we ask for help? Perhaps it's the stigma, perhaps we've tried other therapists, perhaps we just can't make the call. But there's a reason you're on this site. I'm here to encourage you to make the call, whether it's to me or someone else. You do deserve to feel better!

Your closest relationships often feel more adversarial than like partnerships. Whatever love and companionship you’ve shared has been overshadowed by all the conflicts and misunderstandings that happen so often lately. Maybe you want to feel closer, have healthier dynamics, and a more intimate connection but aren’t sure what that could look like or how to get there. Whether you’re seeking therapy for you and your partner or just yourself, you’re here because something needs to change. Through guided conversations, we can unpack what’s going on in your relationship, learn tools, & navigate challenges to help you find a path forward.

Feeling unmotivated, no longer interested in things you used to enjoy, or finding it hard to maintain relationships? Have you pushed your mental health needs to the side to care for others? These are just a few things I am able to assist you with. The pandemic has been extremely hard on those with mental health issues and has also highlighted these issues for those who have been avoiding them. I urge you to advocate for yourself and get the help you need today.

My earliest memories are as a caregiver, capable beyond my years. As I grew others came to me for love and support and, over time, I came to realize my calling was to help others with crises or long-standing personal or family problems. Making that my life’s work was a natural and easy step for me. I still love helping others as much as I ever have. You’re here because you’re looking for change and for help. Your desire for change and your willingness to ask for help are the most important steps. You’ve already taken them.

"There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't"-- John Green. Whether you don't know how to process trauma you have experienced, are so overwhelmed it is impacting your daily life or maybe you are struggling with an internal battle daily. You matter, you have a voice and I am here to listen. Sometimes our journey can get rough and it seems like a lot to bear. Then, at our lowest point, God sends us people to help us along the way.

Sexual inhibition, low desire, or dysfunction can leave you feeling insecure and worried about your relationship. Where once was love and joy, now there are bouts of loneliness and arguments. Sex has become another item on the to-do list, if it even happens at all. Maybe you have already tried couple’s counseling, but the frustration and resentment around your sex life keeps your relationship stuck and you’re still left wondering if it is your fault. You want to overcome the challenges that make sex unenjoyable, difficult, even painful, but you wonder if therapy can help.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
