As a Black
woman
& BIPOC therapist, I am deeply in tune with how culture can shape your experience with anxiety, depression, & ADHD.
Being a high achiever feels like you have to keep up this façade of perfection, which means you are overworking and in a constant state of stress. This can show up as work stress, burnout, unfulfilling relationships & feeling worthless. It’s lonely at the top. You need a therapist that understands the unique challenges that come with being an outlier & can help you bounce back. I help high-achievers, ADHDers, & first-generation strivers in Georgia, Maryland, Florida, and all of the PsyPact states, learn to feel more productive, motivated, and engaged.

I work with adults, with a passion for empowering
women
to live their most fulfilling lives. My approach is determined by your needs and pays attention to your strengths, guided by the belief that you already possess the answers to what will work best for you. My job is to come alongside you and facilitate the process. Together we’ll look at the strengths and strategies that have served you, and explore what you might desire to let go of, or add in this current season of life. I provide individual therapy grounded in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral theories, with a flexible approach to understanding challenges and solutions.

I have work with
women
in transition, infertility, miscarriage and postpartum depression and anxiety.
I am an interactive therapist, interested in helping clients reduce symptoms of distress, usually anxiety or depression and explore with them the roots of their distress. I find whether it is addiction, eating disorders, chronic pain, or straight forward relationship issues, understanding the "why" as well as the "how" to fix it, helps the problem and symptoms subside. Clients that work with me finish therapy with a greater awareness of themselves which helps them avoid difficulties in the future as well as a host of healthy coping strategies to help get through the rough times ahead.

I am a cis gendered, heterosexual
woman
with South American immigrant parents and welcome the opportunity to work with people of all backgrounds and identities.
I help people to live more engaged and fulfilling lives. I will help you to understand and change unhealthy patterns of behaving that you have developed because that is how you've always done things. I am particularly interested in the intergenerational transmission of trauma that can accompany those that immigrate from other countries and how our social and cultural milieu creates systems that create a feeling of Otherness.

My experience population include male and
female
adolescents and adults of all ethnicities.
Life has a way of creating experiences that cause both physical and mental pain, loss, trauma, emotional distress, and challenges. Without notice, we find ourselves mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually stuck with little insight of how to move forward or past the experience. I would like to help you navigate through the conscious and unconscious processes that may have contributed in your struggle to heal. I will work with you to manage or resolve the things that are preventing you from enjoying fully your human journey.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
