I also provide ADHD coaching to help individuals learn and enact behaviors that help them reach their life goals.
In life, there are times when we need to face challenging situations and make changes, but we may need help to think things through. I work from the perspective that all of us can bring certain strengths to bear and that we can benefit from self-understanding in order to use our strengths to the best of our abilities. Through a collaborative framework, I help people cope with the pressures of everyday life, transitions that are challenging and/or stressful as well as longstanding concerns such as learning difficulties, anxieties, mood problems, interpersonal concerns, and life transitions.

I specialize in treating adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD , and trauma.
Having a sense of humor is just as much a bridge to another soul as it is a shield against the unbearable. My clients often laugh as much in session as they cry or express frustration. It's all important; it's all a part of healing. What do you want to heal? Is there something about your world that feels uncomfortable or just not right? Do you need a non-judgmental space to help you figure out what you want or who you are?

I am Board Certified in both Clinical and Neuropsychology, and my practice has evolved over the years to a primary focus on evaluations. Psychoeducational evaluations focus on academic skills and functioning, with ADD / ADHD , Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders being of particular concern. These evaluations often lead to accommodations in schools and colleges and on standardized admissions tests. Neuropsychological evaluations examine the impact of psychiatric and neurological disorders on cognitive and emotional functioning. Cogscreen--AE evaluations are conducted to screen pilots and air traffic controllers.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Rockville ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Rockville.
