If you are at a time in your life when you need someone to help sort out life's thoughts or problems, I can help with: Anxiety • Stress Management • Trauma • Parenting issues • Anger • Depression • Crisis Management • Marriage / Relationship concerns • Work related problems • Grief • Adjustment issues • Adults (raped or abused as children).
Your journey is unique and my primary goal is to start with where you are, wherever that is, through online services. Online counseling is similar to traditional therapy, however, you and I will meet on live video instead of in my office. We can talk about things you may not want to share with family or friends.

Currently accepting new clients. Life’s challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and disconnected. Perhaps you’ve been powering through, but it feels like you’re merely surviving instead of truly living. It’s not uncommon to feel lost or unsure of how to regain a sense of balance and control. As a military veteran with over 20 years of service, I deeply understand the impact of stress, life transitions, and the strain they place on your sense of self, your relationships, and your overall well-being.

With the trying times we now face daily, you may feel like many people have lost their way. The quiet place we used to gather our thoughts and plan for the future seems to be lite years in the past. It can be hard to listen to what our brains tell us when working, caring for others, or distracted, besides the daily struggle of just living. The “New norm” is a struggle that consumes us daily. We’re so used to multi-tasking that we don’t give time and space to sit down and reflect. Scheduling time for yourself is going to be a more critical component of your wellness.

Common treatment areas are depression, anxiety, anger/self-regulation, PTSD, adjustment, relationship struggles, family issues, life changes, and many more.
Many of my clients find that their ways of managing difficult feelings and thoughts have brought on unwanted consequences within themselves and/or in relationships. If you are open to exploring your family history, strengths, insights, and ultimately a deeper acceptance and understanding of yourself, I got you. I use the Gottman Method to help couples.

Sometimes the world can feel impossibly heavy, and it is exhausting to cope with underlying challenges like chronic stressors, depression, anxiety, or trauma. Having a space to fully vent your worries and frustrations without fear or guilt is so important for mental health, but often so difficult to find. I approach my clients with warmth and without judgment. I work to cultivate a collaborative connection with clients, while empowering them to make sustainable, long-term changes, beyond our time together.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
