Do You Ever Feel Like the Strong One Who’s Finally Tired? You’re the one people lean on, the dependable friend, the steady parent, the dedicated professional. But lately, you’ve started to feel invisible, disconnected, or just plain exhausted. You give so much to everyone else that you’ve forgotten how to refill your own cup. Maybe you’ve been carrying grief that no one sees. Maybe you’ve learned to silence parts of yourself to keep the peace. Or maybe you’ve simply reached a point where surviving isn’t enough anymore, and you want to feel whole. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

I deeply believe that seeking therapy services represents a strong desire to balance internal experiences and better understand one’s beliefs and actions. It is through that better understanding and insight that one develops their own path to life satisfaction. As a therapist, I see my role as one to assist in the exploration of self that will manifest in the ability to make the changes one has identified are important. My goal is to help you reveal your own truth and sense of peace and stability.

Athletes, performers, and professionals within high-risk occupations; such as first responders or medical professionals, often have to manage various strenuous aspects of their sport or career, while also navigating the "inevitable" stress that is baked into this journey we call life.
Helping others learn and apply the skill of emotional regulation, reframing thoughts, and self-efficacy to help reduce anxiety, bolster focus, and enhance confidence is one of the many ways I help clients along their journey. My clinical interest also include working through burnout, sport injury/rehabilitation, substance abuse, and workforce adversity.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy for a while, this is your sign to begin! As an Asian American and full-time working mom, I understand what it means to shoulder the burden - cultural expectations, family obligations, and the pressure to get it all right while trying not to lose yourself in the process. As a school counselor for 11+ years, I've support teens through academic pressures, social struggles, and self-doubt. Now, as a therapist, I bring that same understanding and expertise to clients facing anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship challenges, and communication difficulties.

In my experience, a person who seeks therapy wants solutions that work. And since two heads are better than one, I believe an effective therapeutic alliance can help people attain the happiness and fulfillment they desire. When a safe and trusting environment is established, people can learn to value themselves, develop healthy relationships and heal from painful experiences. My therapy style is direct and active. I rely on honesty and authenticity in therapy to guide our collaborative efforts. Therapy can only be successful when the client and therapist have a good working relationship and the client participates fully.

I see my job as helping you reduce suffering with rational, practical solutions for the person you are, given the situation you’re in.
We all get to a point where the suffering becomes more than we can handle, and we all have to find ways to cope with it. My goal is to help relieve people of suffering caused by maladaptive patterns of feeling, thinking and behaving that they have been conditioned to repeat over time. I do this by building a relationship with them, then allowing that relationship to be the template for healthy interactions in life and a realistic perception of themselves and their situation.

Career Counseling Therapists

How do I know if I need career counseling?

Determining whether a career counselor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counseling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counselor.

Who can benefit from career counseling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counseling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counseling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counselor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counseling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counseling typically last?

The length of career counseling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking. Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counseling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counselor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counseling?

Clients can prepare for career counseling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counselor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counselor, particularly if the career counselor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counseling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
