Hey Wonder-Woman! It truly is a wonder how you wear so many hats, saving many people and juggling many tasks. Are you feeling worn down and burnt out? Are you struggling with friendships or having trouble connecting with your partner intimately? Feeling like your love life is non-existent? Are you starting to feel stuck, empty, or unmotivated, maybe even anxious, plagued with worry, and overwhelmed? It can feel quite unbearable when all these emotions and racing thoughts fill your daily life. You want to feel peace in your mind, heart, and relationships, but instead, you feel turmoil; I understand.

I work with people who are grieving the loss of a loved one from death
Sometimes people need someone to talk to who gets grief and who can validate what the process is like because it can feel so abnormal. When you're ready, there is the peace of finding your purpose; searching for who you once were, creating who you are now.

Through my experience, I have developed a love for partnering with adolescents and young adults through grief, trauma, and both intra- and interpersonal conflict.
We have all learned the hard way that life doesn't go according to plan, and that's where I come in. My goal is to provide you with a non-judgmental space to process, find balance, and the tools to successfully navigate all that gets thrown your way. In this work, I believe that it’s all about relationships. I prioritize bringing my most authentic self to create a safe and welcoming environment where we can develop a strong foundation to achieve your goals. While we may set big picture goals in our time together, I believe there is no win too small to celebrate and emphasize progress over perfection.

Grief is a natural response to a bereavement or a loss of any kind, but the distress you understandably feel today need not be incapacitating or unnecessarily prolonged.
Losing a loved one - (or a home, or a job, or a relationship) - hurts. It provokes a host of difficult emotions, each of which contributes to that overall experience which we call " grief". Together, we will examine those different emotions and devise effective ways of coping with each of them.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
