Are you anxious and stressed? Do you fear disapproval and avoid confrontation? I get it! I facilitate change by first identifying the fixed thoughts and assumptions that interfere with fulfillment. Does your relationship/marriage need tools to navigate disagreements? Childhood experiences powerfully impact our self-statements, so you won't leave our sessions without exploring your youth - - who loved you, who didn't, and how you now cope and react. Couples therapy sessions will also provide this same in-depth approach with an emphasis on communication strategies. I am also trauma-informed and treat C-PTSD clients.

What does it mean to truly know yourself? To me, therapy isn’t about fitting into a neat, pre-packaged box; it’s about discovering who you are when the old scripts no longer work. I balance an analytical, perceptive mind with a naturally warm, empathetic presence. Together, we will create a space where you can safely unpack your heaviest burdens without fear of judgment, uncovering the deep insights that are already within you. Your well-being is deeply connected to your history, your environment, and your physical body. I also have a particular affinity for working with artists, activists, and other healing professionals.

Fit in everywhere and nowhere at the same time? I get it. I help diverse women who juggle multiple cultural identities heal. Maybe you’re the child of immigrants, multiracial or a racially ambiguous chameleon, an expat, “third culture kid”, bilingual (or sad you lost your parent’s language), feel culturally displaced, part of a religious minority, or just don’t quite fit into any one box. You probably feel suffocated by the drive to overfunction, perform, and be what everyone else needs you to be. You might find it hard to get your own needs met and feel unsettled in yourself and your relationships.

I work with high-functioning midlife women who have outgrown the life they built and are ready to examine what is underneath the patterns keeping them stuck. They are navigating divorce, career shifts, retirement, empty nests, or a quiet but persistent sense that their identity no longer fits. Accomplished and deeply responsible, they often arrive exhausted from holding everything together, carrying self-doubt, over-functioning in relationships, or a growing awareness that something essential is missing. They are ready for real change.

When you or a loved one is struggling it can be hard to know where to start in bringing about positive change. It may seem like the strategies you are using to make things better just aren’t working, which can lead to feeling stuck, hopeless and uncertain. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and safe space to work together on better understanding how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors interact, with the goal being to find strategies and solutions that help you to live a life consistent with your values. Specializing in eating disorders and co-occurring disorders, I particularly enjoy working with young adults.

Are You Creative? So Am I. I'm Kristen, a Licensed Social Worker, creative artist, and entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience supporting individuals through life's challenges and transitions. I believe therapy doesn't always have to look like sitting on a couch talking about your feelings for 45/53 minutes. As an artist, I understand that healing is not one-size-fits-all. While meaningful conversation can be powerful, healing can also happen through creativity, art, movement, nature, music, connection, and giving yourself permission to dream again.

I recognize that our world may cause us harm, whether intentional or unintentional. My hope in our work together is to separate any harm experienced from serving as a defining characteristic of your personhood. In my practice, my goal is to honor and uplift your unique light with the hope that you may grow more comfortable in sharing it with others in this world. We all carry an inner light, though adversity can sometimes dim its unique glow. I believe that our bodies are vessels of deep wisdom and discernment — learning to attune to that wisdom can transform how we live.

Therapy isn’t just about talking — it’s about transforming. I believe real change happens when we’re willing to look inward, push past our comfort zones, and do the tough work. That’s where I come in. I’m a direct therapist who’s here to challenge, motivate, and guide you toward the growth you’re truly capable of. I see therapy as a partnership — one where we dig into patterns, get honest about what’s holding you back, and build practical tools to move you forward. Welcome to my page.
As a Clinical Social Worker I have been helping women of all ages for the past 19+ years. Some of the areas that I specialize in are relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, cancer and trauma.
I am here to compassionately listen and support you. Sometimes that’s actually all we need, is to have someone who is present with us listening, and then validates us. One of my goals in therapy, is to provide a space that feels safe to you, and then this is where the healing can begin.

You deserve to thrive, and I believe you can. I'm here to help.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
