Your past doesn't have to write your future. Whether you're navigating the complexities of relationships, searching for your voice, or longing for deeper intimacy with your partner, you deserve a safe, sacred space to explore what's possible in your life. I work with Millennials, couples, and adult women who are ready to live well, love well, and be well. My clients are often caught between who they've been and who they're becoming—seeking to strengthen their relationships, establish boundaries that honor their well-being, and make meaningful changes aligned with their deepest values.

As a therapist, I seek to provide the sort of mental health services that I would want available to my father, my brother, and even myself. As a Black man, I understand the unique experiences of Black men in America and the ways in which these experiences contribute to mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and stress. I also recognize that Black men are diverse and not a monolith. With this in mind, I believe that Black men deserve care that understands both the uniqueness and diversity of Black men’s experiences, while also having a cultural awareness of the mental health needs of Black men.

Has there been a loss or a major change in your life? Have you lost a loved one? Do you have a “living loss”, where you’ve lost a job, relationship, or someone to mental illness or addiction? Has home life changed, like a new empty nest? Or you may be living on your own for the first time. Loss can be life changing, and can stop you in your tracks. You may feel shock, sadness, anxiety, and can’t concentrate or get things done. Your physical health may even suffer. All of us experience change in our lifetimes. If you feel stuck, lost, or down, there is hope. I believe it is possible to heal, cope, and get back to fully living.

Plans change, people change and there are several life transitions that we all experience; however, we often find it challenging to accommodate these inevitable shifts. We also think that we are equipped to tackle all these changes on our own, when that is not reality! Despite the difficulties that we all experience - you are not alone. My goal is to assist clients in maneuvering their individualized path to create meaningful change.

Therapy with me is a space to sort things out, reconnect with your confidence, and move forward with clarity, whether you’re tackling depression, self-esteem struggles, or the uncertainties of a significant life change.
Foster hope and inspire change. That’s the mission I bring to every session. I believe people have an innate resilience to rise above life’s challenges, though sometimes we all need a little help to get there. I work with adults and teens who feel stuck, are navigating life transitions, or are part of military families managing the unique stresses that lifestyle can bring. My approach is warm, relational, and direct, with humor when it fits. Together, we’ll have real conversations, face challenges honestly, and build on the strengths you already have.

You’re here because you are accomplished and capable, yet inside something feels unsettled. Maybe you’ve done therapy before but still feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, perfectionism, or taking care of everyone else. You want to work with someone who cares about all the parts of you. I help women heal from trauma, anxiety, and dysfunctional family dynamics. Together, we’ll create space for deep healing so you can move from surviving to living with authenticity, ease, and self-trust.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
