I work with women navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship tension, and the pressure to hold everything together. Many come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in old patterns that no longer fit. They're often caregivers, students, new professionals, or women carrying the emotional weight of being "the strong one." They're healing from past experiences, breaking generational patterns, or learning to set healthier boundaries. They want to feel grounded, confident, and more connected to who they are becoming, with space to explore what THEY need not others' need.

Does it feel like you go through the motions in life, unable to feel much joy? Maybe you numb yourself out with addictions, media, or other distractions. Often people, men in particular, believe they have to tough it out. They might not feel safe opening up and really getting to the bottom of their feelings. But going it alone gets lonely and tends to make things worse. I help people who want to feel better about themselves and overcome the issues that hold them back. I work with teen boys, young men, older men, and others who are looking for someone who can truly see and hear them.

Why its important to seek Mental Health Services in your community. Mental health is essential in every community, but it is particularly crucial in the African-American community in Baltimore city due to various factors that can impact mental health. Poverty: Many African Americans in Baltimore city live in poverty, which can lead to poor mental health outcomes. 3. My approach to therapy is centered around the belief that the client knows themself best. My role is to provide the appropriate level of support and feedback as we begin navigating challenges and identifying goals. While I tailor my approach based on each client's unique needs, I often incorporate interventions from Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies, Adlerian Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. I appreciate how these modalities can help create new thought patterns while also exploring how our past experiences inform our present lives.

Intervention Therapists
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behavior and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behavior has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.

How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.

What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.

Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
