You're likely here because you've already tried everything else like talking to friends or family, reading self-help books and listening to podcasts...you’ve maybe even tried therapy before. You've tried to do it alone. And yet, you are still struggling. Maybe your worries don’t stop or when you think about the future, you imagine the worst. You might feel never quite good enough no matter what you accomplish. Sleeping could be difficult, your mood might be irritable or down, and/or you feel anxious and on edge all the time. You are not alone! I have been there as have all of my clients.

For me personally, I find that any client is an ideal client. Every individual has within them their own internal timeline, mechanism, and capacity for change that is inherently correct for them. I do my best to respect this as a clinician. I do ask for an honest accounting of oneself to the best of their ability. If this is successfully reached, then the possibility for healing and moving forward from mental anguish is possible. It is my professional belief that when both the client and the therapist are fully open to the process that the work truly begins.

Often times, individuals and families struggle with issues beyond understanding or don't have an individual to provide an unbiased approach to life's problems. Sometimes those seeking therapy have a support system that doesn't know how to best assist in their issues. Some individuals don't have a support system and need help navigating isolation. Some couples want to feel heard, validated, and respected by their partner and struggle with communication. In all, therapy can provide a safe place for positive growth to occur as individuals, families, and couples work to achieve healthier approaches to a majority of life's problems.

Thank you for looking at my ad and considering the process of psychotherapy/counseling for your life. Many of my new clients have spoken about the anxiety they experienced when they decided to seek additional support through a therapist. I have come to recognize that this anxiety mostly comes from each client really hoping they can find the right match for themselves. Hopefully this brief biography will facilitate your decision about whether we could match up nicely. Please review my website which will provide you with a greater understanding of my experiences.

Wouldn't it be great if your therapist didn't just listen to you, but helped YOU listen to yourself? You know, that part if yourself that gets lost among all your responsibilities and commitments and social media and stress and all the things you tell yourself...all that stuff that makes you feel fragmented and overwhelmed. I excel at helping people discover themselves amidst the noise of life. Understanding yourself is the key to getting "unstuck" and moving towards healing, success, and growth.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
