Most of my clients aren't broken—they're exhausted. They're the people everyone else relies on, until they realize they need support too. They come to therapy seeking relief from stress, burnout, relationship challenges, intimacy concerns, and the pressure of holding it all together. Our team offers a safe, affirming space where clients can slow down, untangle what's weighing them down, and develop practical tools to create healthier relationships, greater balance, and a life that feels more like their own.

Hello! My name is Andrea Boyd, (she, her) LCSW-C and I am a psychotherapist specializing in working with teens and young adults. I am a trauma informed therapist and I use a combination of talk therapy, mindfulness based approaches, and trauma protocols, especially EMDR, to help people cope with hard times, heal from their past experiences, and create meaning and joy in their lives. As a queer/pan and neurodiverse therapist, I often work with young people with marginalized identities, especially queer, neurodiverse, or disabled young people, who are navigating a world that was, in many ways, not built with them in mind.

I specialize exclusively in trauma therapies (such as EMDR and Brainspotting) that reset the fight-or-flight response in the brain and reduce symptoms.
Your PTSD symptoms create overwhelming feelings of depression and anxiety that block out hope. I am a certified EMDR therapist who uses EMDR, Brainspotting and Ketamine Assisted Therapy to desensitize PTSD symptoms so that the body’s alarm system reregulates. Feelings of safety and integration naturally occur once this nervous system reset is accomplished.

Then EMDR/IFS/ Brainspotting to unhook trauma.
Has the state of the world left you fucking exhausted? Dragging yourself through the day fakin’ it ‘til ya makin’ it? Spending your “free time” staring at the clock and a teapot like The Beast, or doom-scrolling Matt Matthew’s chicken banter because throat-punchin’ a bitch will catch you a charge? Does Taylor Swift’s “It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me” sound like your goddamn inner critic? Does life feel like Severance, like your dead-ass tired body clocks in while your mind checks the fuck out? Can you relate to Olivia Benson’s William Lewis arc and the brutal fallout that followed? Yeah. Let’s do something about that shit.

I primarily utilize Brainspotting to treat Trauma and PTSD.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by everything that comes with starting over in a new country? Are clashes between your own culture and American culture causing you stress? Maybe you'd rather forget the things you experienced back home. Or perhaps you grew up here with parents who were born in a different country, and you feel stuck between two different cultures. Especially if you're feeling sad, stressed, or lonely, I want you to know that this is perfectly normal for people who are new to a country, or children of immigrants, and I'm here to help you embrace and overcome these unique challenges.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
