I work best with women who are over 25 who have a growth mindset. My work is anchored in my conviction that ultimate freedom is found in Christ. I welcome women from every background and belief system, while allowing this foundation to quietly shape the heart, soul, mind, and strength approach that guides my practice. I want to build resilience and hope in a world that is often so painful and difficult.

I specialize in trauma and identity work using EMDR, schema therapy, and trauma-informed CBT.
You may appear high-functioning on the outside but are desperate on the inside. Maybe you’re carrying trauma, stuck in painful relationship cycles, or battling anxiety, grief, or a deep sense of disconnection. You want clarity, peace, and healing—but more than anything, you want to feel like yourself again. You’re ready to understand the “why” behind your struggles, not just talk about the latest crisis. You’re looking for something deeper—a space to be real, to be safe, and to begin to untangle what’s been holding you back.

You’re a high-achieving professional who seems to have it all together, but inside, you’re struggling to keep up with the demands of your life. You juggle a demanding career, while raising children, and caring for aging parents. You constantly worry, your sleep is restless, and overwhelm feels like your middle name. The chronic fatigue, irritability, and feelings of inadequacy are constant. Your relationships are strained because you’re not showing up as your best self, and despite your outward success, you often feel stuck, unfulfilled, and like you're failing the people who matter most.

I believe a caring, collaborative approach is the basis for growth and healing. I enjoy joining with my clients to transform stress into wholeness, peace and satisfaction. I specialize in treatment with adults seeking recovery from trauma and transformation of long standing patterns and habits. I work with individuals struggling with relationship crisis. My treatment approach draws from emotion focused, mindfulness and imagery. I use a "parts" approach when "part" of you feels one way and another "part" feels an opposite or different way. I recognize each person's unique spirituality as a component of healing in their therapy.

Therapy with me is about deepening awareness of yourself and expanding your capacity for change. While we often begin with a specific struggle or symptom, the work evolves in response to what is revealed throughout the process. I will encourage you to notice what feels alive in session, viewing the therapeutic space as a microcosm of your everyday life where you feel safe to take risks and experiment with new ways of being. We will work to explore, deconstruct, and adapt the defenses that no longer serve you, witnessing together what emerges in their place.

To the big feelers, the over-thinkers, and those who have always been searching for answers, but in the pursuit of perfection, have never found them; Those that have it all together on the outside, but feel messy and insecure on the inside; Those that desperately want to be known, but fear everything will fall apart if others truly see you; and Those that have forgotten themselves along the way while caring for everyone else- I honor and welcome you with curiosity, patience, and compassion. Together we will explore what has happened, what is here now, and how to build a future filled with joy, purpose, safety, and connection.

My work is trauma-informed and grounded in Schema Therapy and the mind-body connection.
My ideal client is an adolescent, college student, or adult navigating anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, trauma, grief, or major life transitions. They may feel unsure where to start and are seeking relief, clarity, and coping tools, in addition to insight. They’re motivated to better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and build emotional stability, but may need support to feel safe, grounded, and confident enough to take those steps.

Do you feel a lack of connection with self and others? I recognize that life can be challenging for many reasons and that asking for help and support is difficult. Self-reflection and developing coping skills alone can seem foreign and daunting, the good news is--you don't have to do it alone. My goal is to assist people in exploring interpersonal issues and ways to remove barriers, such as substance use and self-deprecating tendencies.

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.

Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.

Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognizing and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.

How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
