If you are feeling overwhelmed, don't suffer alone! Everyone can use support sometimes, and I love finding ways to help clients feel comforted, supported, and encouraged. I work primarily with women, although that work can extend into couples and families. I work on many different issues, but have special interest in anxiety, life transitions, grief, and parenting work. I offer an integrated model for counseling and wellness including a holistic approach, practical ideas for change, a beautiful setting, and yoga and retreat offerings. Good counseling can create a connection where change, and growth are possible and even likely.

I have training in grief and loss as well as infertility, parenting , and adoption.
Is there something holding you back from the experience of feeling fully alive, safe, and satisfied in your own life; in your own skin? Experiencing internal and external difficulties long enough and under enough stress, we become disconnected to what makes life worth living. I believe my job is to provide a safe space and be a supportive, caring, non-judgmental presence as a guide and collaborator. Together we can face what is hurting or not helping you. I have worked over the years in a variety of settings with adults, children, teens, families and couples from diverse backgrounds and identities.

Relationships are the cornerstone of our lives. When our connection to others—and ourselves—is suffering, we in turn suffer. Perhaps you’ve been feeling out of step with your feelings and suspect that events from your past may be contributing to your difficulties relating to others currently. Or maybe you’re a parent who has concerns about your child’s fears and anxieties. Working with individuals, couples, children, and families in counseling, I help them navigate relationships with vulnerability and authenticity.

Some of my experience includes dealing with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and Traits, Parenting Issues, Adoption, Anxiety (including PTSD and OCD), Depression and other Mood Disorders, Marital/Couple Problems, Adult-Teen Developmental Issues and Conflicts, Problems of Early Childhood, Personality Disorders, Transitions in life such as Divorce or Loss, and formal Cognitive and Personality Assessments.
It takes a lot of courage to seek help, especially in a world that unfairly stigmatizes getting psychological services. Lack of understanding of what therapy is and how people can benefit from it prevents some from using professional services to know and understand themselves better, to improve relationships, and to live more meaningful, fulfilling lives regardless of their challenges. Sometimes people have troubling symptoms due to anxiety, depression, and other disorders and need help to address these symptoms and their causes. I use a variety of approaches to help clients. My goal is to empower clients through a healthy, therapeutic relationship.

Specialty also held in postpartum disorders and parenting .
The stressors of modern living create noisy interference in the “telephone line” to our highest self (often called the soul, spirit, unified field, universal consciousness, etc.). Through my intuitive psychotherapy practice, I cast my mystical gifts through the lens of my expertise as a licensed clinical social worker. Marrying the two allows for optimum balance between divine clarity and therapeutic processing and integration work. Clients benefit on a soul level while remaining anchored in practical application tools for everyday living.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
