My clinical experience includes working with individuals whose stories include anxiety, depression, ADHD, adoption, and trauma.
We all have a story. Our stories define us in many ways. If you are scrolling through this website then you have already started the hardest part of therapy—making a decision to invite someone else in to your story. As your counselor, I aim to help you integrate all parts of your story within a framework of safety, compassion, and authenticity. I understand the importance of feeling safe, and acknowledge it will take time to build rapport. As a person who has faced many of her own obstacles, I offer a unique emphasis on self-compassion and acceptance along with accountability and action when needed.

Hello and welcome! In my practice, I provide a supportive space for individuals from adolescence through adulthood. Life often hands us stress that over time, or rather abruptly, can disrupt our sense of calm. We can get stuck, lose track of who we are and what is important to us. By working together, we can explore individual needs, strengthen awareness, challenge obstacles, and build skills to promote wellbeing.

I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression, including chronic worry, overthinking, low mood, emotional exhaustion, and negative self-talk.
Therapy is not about pushing yourself to “feel better” quickly—it is about building awareness, strengthening self-compassion, and making sustainable changes that support emotional stability and well-being.

I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity exploration, and life transitions.
If therapy has felt intimidating or like “just sitting and talking,” I take a more creative, collaboration approach. I work with ages 5–21, and I believe healing doesn’t have to be boring—or done in just one way. My approach blends evidence-based practices like CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy with more hands-on, expressive tools. That might look like art projects to untangle big feelings, games that make it easier to open up, music that says what words can’t, or even movement/yoga to help reconnect mind and body. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we create. Sometimes we laugh a lot. All of it counts.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
