Are you the one who finally needs answers? You may be a parent watching your child struggle in school, only to be told they are "fine." A neurodivergent adult who has spent years masking and is exhausted. A veteran or law enforcement officer who needs evaluations that actually understand their world, or a professional whose brain works in ways that traditional systems were never built for. Wherever you are arriving from, you deserve a clinician who sees you accurately, names what is true, and gives you a path forward that fits your actual life.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're used to holding everything in or feeling like no one truly understands what you're going through. Whether you're navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, cultural or identity-based challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I want to create a space where you feel supported, seen, and valued.

Learning to love and live as your authentic self is a deeply important commitment to your well-being and personal growth, but this can be challenging in a world where others often pressure us to fit their expectations. As a Certified Trauma-Informed therapist, my goal is to create a shame-free environment where you can identify and make the adjustments needed to live in alignment with your own values. I integrate somatic (body-centered) techniques to help regulate the nervous system, cognitive strategies to shift limiting beliefs, and behavioral interventions that support lasting change.

Maybe you feel like life is not worth living anymore. Like no one has your back. Maybe you find yourself saying, “I’m going to fail anyway, so why even try?” Or maybe you want to start moving forward with your life, but don’t know where to even begin. It is completely possible to get "unstuck," so that you can begin living again, and not just merely existing. It all starts with knowing that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

The search for a counselor can come from a desire to better yourself or a moment of crisis. Regardless of what is prompting you to seek therapy now, it is an act of bravery. Some of my specialties are working with clients dealing with difficult life challenges and transitions (infertility, postpartum, divorce, job change) as well as those coping with complicated relationships. I have a strong passion for working with LGBTQ+ folks and have helped clients navigate coming out, gender dysphoria, discrimination, and other issues related to gender and sexuality. I hold a virtual group for gender non-conforming folx once per month.

High-achievers are often the point person at home, work, and with friends because they get things done. But all the doing, and maybe people-pleasing, can leave you feeling drained. If you're ready to feel relief, sleep through the night, and take care of yourself without guilt, we would be a good fit. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. We set clear, achievable goals and create actionable steps towards achieving them. My ultimate aim is to help my clients connect with their core values and live a balanced, fulfilling life that aligns with their true selves.

I believe the first and most sacred job of a therapist is to create a safe, nurturing space where you are fully seen and heard. From that space, I will walk with you along your path of growth and healing, helping to guide you on your journey. If you struggle with mood or anxiety, want to resolve issues from your past, feel overwhelmed navigating life changes, or simply need support, I can help you untangle the threads and begin to get relief.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
