The clients I work with are those committed to better health. My clients are those seeking health in their relationships, mood, body, mind and spirit. I specialize in those looking to have peak performance, those going through a life transition, and parents looking to be better. When we start therapy, we are getting to know each other. I will take the time to learn all about you, your environment and what challenges you are facing. Then we develop goals together that you want to achieve during therapy. From there I can develop a tailored plan to help you find the life you seek.

You need to talk to someone. You're in a stressful place in your life. Not only is your desire for clarity and comfort at its peak, your need to find the right therapist is a leap of faith. Seeing me, you may find our sessions to be empowering, challenging, yet comfortable, and at times humorous. You can become energized by the unfolding of your story, gaining new insights into your thoughts and feelings that are no longer working for you. Many with whom I work find a significant lift by learning to cope with anxiety and depression, without the need for medication.

You're smart, capable, and driven — but lately, it’s all starting to feel like too much. The constant pressure, the never-ending to-do lists, the expectation to perform, lead, or “have it together” — it’s exhausting. Maybe anxiety keeps your mind in overdrive. Maybe depression has quietly crept in, draining your energy and motivation. Or maybe you’ve just hit a wall, and something needs to change. If you're successful on paper but silently struggling behind the scenes, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep pushing through it by yourself.

Warmth, authenticity and connection, plus a little bit (sometimes a lot) of laughter are the hallmarks of my practice. I focus on establishing and maintaining a safe, trusting relationship with every client because I believe through connection there is healing. I specialize in helping clients in transition - separation, divorce, empty nesting, college-to-adulting - the major life changes where we often find ourselves questioning, doubting, or just wondering. Helping others discover their own "Ah-ha" moments is what makes me a great therapist.

There are so many changes in your life - both big and small - that can bring about feelings of grief and loss. Navigating these changes can feel so overwhelming at times, sometimes beyond what you might feel capable of holding on your own. You may be in uncharted territory and wonder about the uncertainty of the road ahead. You are looking for ways to process past experiences, cope with the present, and manage future challenges.

I believe in a holistic approach, and that a variety of interventions are required to assist clients in illuminating who they want to be. My approach is interactive, non-pathologizing, and client-centered. I believe that clients have developed skills through their life that have helped them get this far, and sometimes we need an extra eye to help us see our own skills, strengths, and patterns. I started my work in Ohio in 2017, and through moves to NC and DC, I have developed a very integrative model through the therapists I've had the pleasure of working with.

Life can feel overwhelming—stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or the weight of daily responsibilities. It’s time to shatter the myth that therapy is only for crises and highlight how valuable it can be for everyday life by helping you build essential coping skills.

I help individuals and couples get relief from anxiety, stress and conflict so they can feel calmer, more grounded and more connected in their daily lives. You're tired of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck in patterns that never seem to change. You may be dealing with stress on your own, or the tension in your relationship has reached a point where it’s hard to talk without things escalating. You're exhausted from keeping it all together. You need someone who listens, but also guides you, challenges you and helps you understand what’s actually going on beneath the stress. You’re ready for real change and steady support.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
