I bring a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm that makes trauma therapy surprisingly fun, but also an acute awareness of the scars that trauma, oppression, and adversity leave.
It's in the past, so why can't I get over it? Am I broken or just doing this to myself? Who even am I now? There's so much suffering in the world, what difference do I make? If you lie awake at night with these racing thoughts, a pit in your stomach, and pressure in your chest, reach out. Life is messy, so bring your full, messy self to therapy. We'll laugh, swear, rage at injustice, and mourn loss together. We'll figure out what's actually behind the humor, intellectualizing, people pleasing, defensiveness, and the things you're ashamed of doing.

Being a human is hard. Anxiety keeps us up at night. Depression weighs us down. And that critical voice never fails to let us know exactly how we screwed up. We feel numb, unsettled -- disconnected from those we love and disengaged from what matters most. Looking at our lives, we realize that this is not what we had planned on, and the life we yearn for seems out of reach.

My ideal client is someone who feels weighed down by stress, emotional overwhelm, or patterns they can’t seem to shift—even though they’ve tried. They may be navigating anxiety, mood changes, relationship challenges, identity confusion, or the lingering effects of past experiences. They come to therapy looking for someone who truly listens, helps them make sense of what they’re going through, and offers practical tools they can use in daily life.

Maybe prayer once brought you peace, but now it brings doubt. You finish praying and immediately wonder if you did it right. You replay the words in your head, searching for mistakes. Did you mean it sincerely enough? Did you miss something? What if you’ve sinned? So you pray again. And again. It feels endless. The more you chase certainty, the less certain you become. Many people with scrupulosity OCD confess the same things repeatedly, always searching for forgiveness. In the hardest moments, you may even choose to avoid the very faith practices that once grounded you.

Sometimes the world can feel too loud, overwhelming, or fast-moving, and you may find yourself craving a moment of quiet—a space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel understood. I believe that everyone deserves a place where their voice matters and their experiences are honored. Whether you’re navigating a major life shift, carrying emotional weight, or simply feeling uncertain about what comes next, you don’t have to walk that path alone.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
