It's in the past, so why can't I get over it? Am I broken or just doing this to myself? Who even am I now? There's so much suffering in the world, what difference do I make? If you lie awake at night with these racing thoughts, a pit in your stomach, and pressure in your chest, reach out. Life is messy, so bring your full, messy self to therapy. We'll laugh, swear, rage at injustice, and mourn loss together. We'll figure out what's actually behind the humor, intellectualizing, people pleasing, defensiveness, and the things you're ashamed of doing.

Come to therapy as you are, leave as you want to be. Everyone has a story. I show up in sessions curious about your story and empower you to rewrite it. This is done by exploring themes more in depth, understanding the layers of meanings and the complexity of your narrative. My ideal client is everyone ready to do the work, collectively. My treatment modalities are eclectic, due to my expansive background, person centered and tailored to each client's needs. Sessions are curated to be safe spaces to reach treatment goals. Goals are developed by envisioning what your life looks like after you no longer need or want therapy.

Many are navigating suicidal ideation, self-harm, disordered eating, or other self-destructive coping strategies.
My work is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles, blending practical skills with deep compassion. In addition, I offer EMDR therapy for clients who want to address Trauma and past experiences. I find that utilizing both of these modalities helps clients find relief in the present moment while also fostering healing from their past.

Most of my clients aren't broken—they're exhausted. They're the people everyone else relies on, until they realize they need support too. They come to therapy seeking relief from stress, burnout, relationship challenges, intimacy concerns, and the pressure of holding it all together. Our team offers a safe, affirming space where clients can slow down, untangle what's weighing them down, and develop practical tools to create healthier relationships, greater balance, and a life that feels more like their own.

As a therapist who has walked a similar path, I understand how difficult it can be to move forward when you feel stuck or overwhelmed by challenges that seem insurmountable. I firmly believe in each person’s capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change, even under the most difficult of circumstances. You are the expert on your own life: my role is to help you strengthen that expertise with clarity and confidence. As a result, I work best with clients who are prepared to engage actively in the therapeutic process and apply these principles beyond sessions.

Not sure of how to support your teen or young adult who is struggling with suicidal ideation, rapid mood shifts, treatment refusal, risk taking behavior, self-harming or hopelessness?
Do you often hear "You're so dramatic," "You're way too sensitive" or "Stop trying to manipulate me"? So often having big emotions means you may find yourself feeling alone, empty and blaming yourself for things that are difficult to control. You may even find yourself pushing people away and then feeling abandoned by them. Maybe you have even wanted to ask for help but felt you did not deserve any help at all? If this sounds like you, I'd like you to know that you do not have to do it alone. I am a fantastic team player and together we will explore new ways to cope, communicate and build a life with less pain and suffering.

I believe that each individual is a unique being and that throughout different times in our lives we may feel uncomfortable. This feeling is our mind and body’s way of telling us that growth is within our reach. There are some essential necessities that we all need to feel safe, but once those are met, we can all learn to grow in new ways. If you can trust me in the safe space that we will create together, I will do my best to provide you with the guidance you need. I am flexible in my approach, adjusting to meet you where you at so growth is obtainable and achievable.

I know how hard it can be to reach out for support, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to start. If you’re here, it likely means that a part of you is ready for change, and I want you to know, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I am a trauma-trained therapist working with clients and other clinicians. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through genuine connection and that therapy should feel like a compassionate, collaborative relationship rather than something clinical or distant.

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
