It's in the past, so why can't I get over it? Am I broken or just doing this to myself? Who even am I now? There's so much suffering in the world, what difference do I make? If you lie awake at night with these racing thoughts, a pit in your stomach, and pressure in your chest, reach out. Life is messy, so bring your full, messy self to therapy. We'll laugh, swear, rage at injustice, and mourn loss together. We'll figure out what's actually behind the humor, intellectualizing, people pleasing, defensiveness, and the things you're ashamed of doing.

I work with individuals, couples, and families—particularly those within LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities—who are seeking a safe, affirming space to navigate life’s challenges and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring a systems-oriented approach, which means I don’t just focus on the individual—I consider the dynamics of relationships, family patterns, and the ways we interact with the world around us. My clients often want more than just coping strategies; they seek deep, lasting change and satisfying relationships.

Therapy is a relationship built upon trust and safety.
Loneliness and anxiety are pervasive in our society today. Many of us feel overwhelmed with the stressors of daily life and that overwhelm is compounded by depression, anxiety, past trauma, abuse, or current marital and parenting difficulties. We long to not feel alone anymore and to talk with someone who can understand and help.

Many individuals and couples seek therapy because they feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, disconnection, or recurring conflict that are difficult to navigate alone.
In addition to couples work, I see individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational challenges. I have a particular interest in supporting women during pregnancy, postpartum, and other significant life changes. When helpful, I integrate my training in functional health, wellness, and nutrition to support whole-person wellbeing.

I work with individuals and couples, and with anyone 16+.
I'm glad you're taking this first step to reach out! I take a collaborative approach to therapy, so we'll only proceed at your pace, in the direction that you want. My first goal is to know and understand you as you truly are. Afterwards—that's when we can talk about diagnosis or exercises if that's what you really want. Because you deserve to feel respected and valued. I prefer a person-centered, strength-emphasized road that combines an acceptance of reality with the power within us to change. We might feel stuck, but there's always a path forward.

You can discover how to balance a successful professional life without sacrificing personal relationships, hobbies, or your creativity.
On the outside, you may look accomplished and poised, but inside you’re exhausted, anxious, and scared of failing or disappointing people. You’re tired of solving things on the surface and you want to get to the root of why you are the way you are. You long for rest, but it feels out of reach. It feels like your inner critic never rests and points out every mistake you make. You have such high standards for yourself and at times it feels impossible to meet them. In therapy, we’ll go deeper and we will uncover unconscious patterns from your past and realign with an authentic, calm sense of self.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
