Connecting to what is important to you and who you want to be is important and yet many of us struggle to connect. You may find yourself constantly busy doing things to prove your value, but not fully enjoying your life and relationships. If this experience describes you, past experiences and relational trauma may be impacting you and leaving you with the feelings that you are "less than" and/or "not good enough." By exploring who you are in therapy you can work through past hurts, define what feels true for you, learn to value your worth, and create a life that feels meaningful and satisfying.

A question I regularly get is, "What is Therapy?" "What does it do?" If you ask 100 therapists, you may get as many different answers. My take on therapy is that it is a space where you can lay out your problems and difficulties in a way that they begin to feel more manageable, then develop insights and new perspectives on how to address these problems. Essentially, it provides a new way to look at your challenges and the knowledge and insight to overcome them.

Treatment approaches are Psychodynamic, Supportive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.
I think my experience treating children, families and adults for many years has benefited my clients. I enjoy helping people very much and understand my strengths and limitations.
My parents were both teachers: My father was a Phys Ed teacher and coach, and my mother was a Special Education teacher. So helping others was valued in my family. I worked in a group practice for many years where I had the opportunity to hone skills and learn from colleagues, and also provided mentorship to co-workers which has helped shape the therapist that I am today.

My approach is integrative and draws on psychodynamic, CBT, and ACT frameworks, adapted to the person in front of me rather than applied as a fixed protocol.
Most of my patients are doing well by most measures. They're accomplished, capable, and have built something real — professionally, personally, or both. What brings them to therapy isn't a crisis. It's the quieter recognition that performing at a high level for a long time has a cost, and that they haven't had a space to reckon with that cost honestly.
I work with high-achieving adults executives, physicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs — who are navigating burnout, identity questions, relational strain, and the particular kind of exhaustion that doesn't show up on a performance review.

My approach is psychodynamic and insight-oriented, helping people better understand the emotional conflicts and relational patterns that shape their lives and relationships.
As a psychologist/ psychoanalyst, I work with people who are struggling with painful symptoms or patterns that feel difficult to change. I also provide emotional assessments for children and adolescents. Together, we look honestly at what may be getting in the way, including the subtle ways we all protect ourselves from difficult truths. In the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship, deeper self-understanding gradually makes new ways of relating and experiencing oneself possible. Over time, this work may lead to greater emotional freedom, more meaningful relationships, and a stronger sense of authenticity and direction.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
