It is my pleasure to be able to offer phone or video counseling for convenience and access to Christian Counseling. I am interested in working with those who have broken hearts, anyone affected by divorce, infidelity , boundary issues, overwhelm, stress, narcissist victim, anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, codependency, childhood abuse, mother/father wounding, family dysfunction and those seeking spiritual growth. I enjoy identifying underlying causes of what keeps us stuck. Uncovering why we do the things we do can help assist in the goal of freedom. It is my personal view that we look at the roots, not the symptoms to make a difference.

I love working with couples and individuals with difficulty in romantic relationships (i.e. sexual issues, communication, infidelity , divorce), adults who come from dysfunctional childhoods, as well as those with anxiety, impulsivity, and addiction. I also enjoy working with those in non-traditional romantic relationships (i.e. ethically non-monogamous, polyamorous). I am LGBTQIA- affirming and sex positive. I work best with clients who are engaged, thoughtful, and motivated for change. My style is empathic and direct, with a sense of humor. I believe strongly in the therapeutic alliance and the client/therapist fit.

I also have extensive experience treating couples, including couples where one or both partners have trauma, or when relationship traumas have occurred, such as infidelity .
Hello and welcome! Successful therapy is so often about finding the right “fit” between therapist and client. With over 25 years’ experience in providing therapy I have had time to master multiple approaches to treatment, which means that I can customize your treatment to fit your needs. I take a collaborative problem-solving approach to treatment, where we establish an alliance to facilitate beneficial therapeutic change. As a therapist I value your experiences, desires, and goals. A major focus of my therapeutic work is with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems.

I see couples at any stage of the relationship (dating, pre-marital, married, contemplating divorce/separation) and I am passionate about helping partners rebuild intimacy and trust after infidelity .
When we desire self-improvement, change is always possible, however it is not always easy. If you find yourself reverting to the familiar yet unhelpful patterns of thought and/or behavior you may feel stuck, however your efforts are not futile, and you certainly are not alone. I aim to empower my clients through acceptance, understanding, empathy, and challenge as we work together to navigate new ways of moving through life in order to achieve your goals.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
