I am a bilingual Marriage and Family Therapist I believe therapy can help individuals find new ways of functioning and increase self-knowledge that can help them move forward in life. Every crisis, obstacle and challenge in life can offer an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery that can help us learn new things about ourselves. As an immigrant myself I know the individual and family challenges of living in a different culture. I enjoy working with immigrant families helping them navigate the benefits and challenges of living in a new culture.
I I have worked with a wide range of clients in hospital settings and outpatient mental health clinics since the beginning of my training. I have extended experience with family conflict, depression, anxiety, family transitions, and self-esteem. I use different therapy models depending of my clients needs.
I have a warm and direct style and treat my clients with respect. I strive to build a good therapeutic relationship so my clients can feel safe to explore their feelings and pursue their goals. I also help them find their strengths which sometimes are forgotten in the mist of adversity, so they can use them to cope.
