Therapy is a space to rediscover—to reconnect with all the parts of yourself, and move beyond the voice of judgment toward meaningful growth. It’s about creating a sense of freedom and curiosity as you learn to live in alignment with who you truly are. I work with individuals and couples who are managing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, addiction, psychosis, relationship conflicts, and performance challenges. Athletes and professionals balancing the mental and physical sides of performance—returning from injury, finding focus under pressure, or regaining confidence after things haven’t gone as planned.

You may be driven, thoughtful, and capable, yet feel weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, or burnout. Many of the clients I work with are navigating stress, confidence struggles, injury, transitions, or a sense of lost identity after sport or major life changes. Even when things look “fine” on the outside, it can feel exhausting to keep pushing. You may be seeking relief, clarity, confidence, and a more sustainable way to perform and live.

I’m a dad of two kids and former D1 college athlete. I’m also a licensed psychologist and sport psychologist. Most of the people I work with have a sense of "stuckness" or disconnection in their lives. Disconnection within themselves. Disconnection in relationships, identities, or roles. Outwardly, it might show up as irritability, anxiety, depression, conflict, grief, trauma, struggling as an athlete/coach/leader...but the common thread is often a deep, hard-to-describe, feeling of disconnect. Of misalignment. My work is all about mending disconnection. I prioritize honesty, compassion, humor, curiosity, and courage in this work.

Thoughts, feelings, and actions can often determine how resilient we are when faced with some of life’s most difficult challenges. Athletes, performers, and professionals within high-risk occupations; such as first responders or medical professionals, often have to manage various strenuous aspects of their sport or career, while also navigating the "inevitable" stress that is baked into this journey we call life. If you would like a little help along your journey, I am the professional for you.

As a past Division I Athlete and current coach, I understand the demands of high performance and competitive environments. I believe people are happiest when striving to be the best version of themselves. While we can take steps to make life more manageable, coping only takes us so far. As your therapist, I will help you build the discipline and resilience to not only overcome life's challenges, but grow from them. My main goal is not to make your burdens go away, but to make you strong enough to bear them.

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in repeating conflict, emotional shutdown, or ongoing uncertainty about their relationships. Many of my clients are high-functioning and capable in work or school but struggle with anxiety, grief, overthinking, pressure to perform, or difficulty expressing what they actually need. I also work with people navigating identity questions, non-traditional relationship structures, and major life or relationship decisions. I work from an affirming, trauma-informed, non-pathologizing lens and recognize how social and cultural factors impact mental health and relationships.

How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
