I have a particular expertise in providing Christian counseling for those who seek to interweave spirituality into their therapeutic process.
I AM NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. Making the decision to find a therapist is the first of many steps that you will make in the journey of renewal and restoration. Research has proven that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of the therapeutic process. My aim is to develop a caring, trusting, non-judgmental and authentic therapeutic relationship with all of my clients. This relationship along with evidenced based treatment interventions provide a strong foundation for success. I subscribe to the belief that everything you need to make positive long lasting change is already inside of you.

I work with adults who are challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, self-identity, spirituality concerns and grief.
Accepting new clients! Life can be challenging sometimes. We work tirelessly to achieve goals, attain our heart's desire, and be successful. We yearn for purpose & meaning in our lives. It is through these aspects that we have a greater understanding of our self-efficacy and resilience. However, we reach a crossroads where we feel misunderstood, alone or unsure of where to turn. It is in these moments, where finding someone to accompany you throughout your journey can be necessary to propel you forward. As a therapist, I'm passionate about the human spirit, and I care about what happens to you & what you are experiencing.

My areas of interest are trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, & spirituality .
It is not easy to be a person. Life can provide circumstances that leave us feeling frustrated, shut down, overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or isolated. But you do not have to go through difficulties alone. You can turn to therapy and receive the support we all need as we move through life. I have experience working with teenagers and adults who have symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, bipolar, ADHD, and OCD.

Spirituality , play and improv can be weaved into the practice setting by request.
Becoming integrated and feeling whole is a process. The beauty is that we are all capable of healing. Traumatic events in our lives via developmental stressors or one-time occurrences can greatly impact us and how we cope in the world. Those coping skills early on were our best survival skills but may not work for us now. Time in counseling, reflection and motivation can help us move forward. Healing is possible and I believe this wholeheartedly and I believe in you.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
