We all have challenges; sometimes our attempts to solve them on our own aren’t getting the results we’d hoped for. At times like these, it can seem as if we’ve lost our way, and we feel stuck, stressed and alone. You aren't alone – a supportive counseling relationship is powerful and life-changing when you are heard, understood, and accepted. Coming from a strengths-based, client-centered perspective, I use a variety of techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and coaching. We can work together to discover your strengths, learn new coping skills and find ways to bring meaning and direction to your life.

My ideal client would be a mom or wife, an individual who does not have any coping skills and blames themselves for things that are out of their control, such as anxiety, depression, unstable mood, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, lack of motivation, & no insight in their situation. Their needs would be support, empathy, understanding, and active listening. They have goals to work on themselves, improve communication skills, increase coping skills, and alleviate anxiety and depressive symptoms. The client would want to change and work on themselves to become better and stronger individuals for themselves & their families.

I also particularly enjoy working with perinatal clients and new moms-so many big changes happening during this stage of life, and oftentimes these changes bring with them new or recurring mental health challenges.
I specialize in working with women navigating OCD, anxiety, people-pleasing, and perfectionism. Many of my clients begin work with me from a place of fear and exhaustion: intrusive thoughts that just won’t quiet down, overthinking that leads to decision paralysis, prioritizing others’ feelings over their own needs, and even an overwhelming fear that there is secretly something wrong with them, or that their thoughts mean they are a terrible person. Struggling with OCD and anxiety can feel incredibly isolating and scary. I'm here to help my clients experience hope and confidence in the face of what feels overwhelming.

Your anxiety is currently behind the wheel (erratically crashing through the major intersections of your life). You and I are about to change that. I work with people who: constantly scan their body (and others’ bodies) for signs of illness; panic when their child acts “off” or someone says “stomach bug”; delegate care of sick children to partner/others; hide and feel ashamed of superstitious rituals they feel compelled to complete; lose hours to cleaning and decontamination spirals with no lasting relief; are hypervigilant to every cough, runny nose, and clutched abdomen; have tried many therapies, but nothing has worked.

I specialize in working with pregnant and postpartum women struggling to adjust to parenthood.
You want to appear like you have it “all together” as a new mom, but deep down you’re struggling to feel confident in yourself or to prioritize your needs. You want to do motherhood well but aren't sure how to juggle your responsibilities. You have an idea of how you want to show up in your life but aren’t sure how to get there. What you know for sure is that you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to let go of the societal pressures and stop neglecting yourself. You’re ready to feel grounded and confident so you can have the energy to pursue your passions and be a present parent and partner.

I am a Behavioral Health Clinician dedicated to helping individuals navigate high-stakes life transitions, from the complexities of perinatal mental health to the intensity of acute crisis.
In our first session, the priority is to create a comfortable, low-pressure space where you feel heard and safe. We will start by discussing what brought you in and what you hope to achieve, but we won't rush into the heavy lifting until you feel ready.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
