The contemporary definition of empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another. This is the philosophical mantra of my sensitivity to other people's feelings, emotions, and desires. My genuine, empathetic relationship with clients and mutual trust are essential to successful therapy. I pride myself on being a compassionate listener to individuals who have faced life’s most profound challenges, suffered from mood disorders, experienced trauma, grief, abuse, or relational problems, and suffered multiple stresses, including those related to work and academia.

Life’s challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and disconnected. Perhaps you’ve been powering through, but it feels like you’re merely surviving instead of truly living. It’s not uncommon to feel lost or unsure of how to regain a sense of balance and control. As a military veteran with over 20 years of service, I deeply understand the impact of stress, life transitions, and the strain they place on your sense of self, your relationships, and your overall well-being.

Welcome, and thank you for being here! Congratulations on taking this first step in your growth process, which is the hardest one. It takes a great deal of courage to face the challenges that often require reaching your own innermost vulnerable self, to open up in order to discover your strength, wisdom, and to trust your intuition in becoming your whole amazing self. It takes a lot of courage to walk through the doors of change and it's impossible to do it alone. Basically everyone, at one time or another in his or her lifetime needs a trusted, nonbiased, wise, and nonjudgmental person in order to meet life's demands.
