I admire your strength in reaching out and seeking help. Our culture tends to emphasize individualism, but I believe in the power and progress that can be made with interdependence and collaboration. I endeavor to individualize support and treatment for each client's unique needs. I welcome you to reach out whenever you are ready to begin. I’m here to provide a supportive environment where you can be yourself. I use integrative approaches since therapy isn't one type fits all - including focus on somatic approaches, mindfulness, solutions/problem solving, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and coping skills.

I work with clients who have anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or other struggles. As my client, you can expect to be listened to, supported, and advocated for. I will work with you to make positive changes that reduce symptoms and improve overall well-being. Also, as a licensed counselor and board-certified art therapist, I offer both talk therapy and art therapy. Art therapy can include a Jungian approach of drawing or painting dreams. The most frequent feedback I receive from clients is that I am kind and caring. If you think I might be a good fit for your needs, call or email me to schedule a free consultation.

Something feels stuck for you. Maybe old patterns keep showing up, or there’s a deeper part of you that wants to be understood. I offer a warm, grounded space to explore what’s beneath the surface. Together, we’ll untangle long-held patterns, strengthen who you are, and help you live in a way that feels more aligned, empowered, authentic, and whole.

Sometimes we can struggle with emotions or behaviors that bother us, and we think to ourselves, "Why can't I just deal with it?". Somehow, we feel worse now, because in addition to having feelings that bother us, we're judging ourselves negatively. If this sounds like you, I would like to help you tap into your inner wisdom and get in touch with what is really going on for you in a way that is free of judgment and liberates you to decide how to be the best version of yourself.

My practice focuses on supporting those navigating persistent cycles of burnout and overwhelm. I deeply understand the mental toll of over-thinking, decision fatigue, and the weight of managing high expectations. I also understand wanting to move from this state of survival into a life that feels more meaningful, whole, and intentional. For me the first step of therapy is building a genuine and safe connection with my clients. Together, we will build a supportive space to navigate the mental clutter and anxiety, and discover a clearer path toward lasting change.

The assumptions we hold about our realities are usually helpful...until they're not. When we have problems, emotional or otherwise, I believe it's because something does not fit within those parameters, does not follow these assumptions. If you're feeling ineffective, impotent, or inadequate, it is usually due to holding onto assumptions that are no longer useful. I employ a cognitive approach to help you create a new reality, a new context, wherein these problems can no longer exist. However, I base my practice on your personal needs; reaching your goals my primary focus, so every session and patient is different.

Hi! I'm Mike and I've had the privilege of working as a psychotherapist providing evidence-based treatment to adults since 2019. Most of my clients' success stories began once they noticed distressing feelings such as "not being myself," "meaninglessness," and "panic about the future;" these kinds of existential and relational crises are particularly difficult to manage in isolation. Over the years, I've learned that parents and professionals experiencing burnout, traumatic stress, cycles of self-sabotage, relational/sexual abuse, and "spiraling thoughts" tend to thrive in treatment with me.

I work with adults and couples who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Many of the people I see are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or major life transitions. Others come in simply knowing something isn’t working the way they want it to—emotionally, relationally, or personally—and are ready for change.

Struggling with the past intruding into the present? Trauma, whether we’ve lived with it for decades or days, tends to reverberate through our lives in powerful and often unpredictable ways. Feeling worn down by a society where your humanity is a matter of public debate? It’s tough for queer and trans people to find time to be vulnerable when our identities are under attack. Are you an activist running low on steam? Collective liberation is critical to changing the social conditions that cause our suffering, but caring for our individual mental health needs allows us to challenge those conditions with clear eyes and open hearts.

Hello, I am James. Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a Social Worker who has worked in several settings during my twenty-year journey in the mental health field. I work with adult clients of various backgrounds. A lesson I learned long ago guides all my work: “Meet the client where they are.” Therapy is your time to talk about what you want. I listen and ask questions to clarify what you are saying and what you might be feeling. We work together to understand what would be most helpful for your overall wellbeing.
