Are you a busy professional or college or grad student dealing with personal, relationship or work-related challenges? As a licensed psychologist, I help individuals and couples like you who are facing difficult life transitions and changes, have experienced trauma or loss, or are dealing with psychiatric illnesses, such as depression and anxiety. Because I understand how hard it can be to ask for assistance, I respond to all email and voicemail messages in a timely manner to make this first step toward growth and healing easier. Please note, I tend to respond email more quickly than voicemail messages.

My focus when facilitating groups or individual sessions is self-empowerment and challenging negative perspectives with more positive outlooks. Life can sometimes feel overpowering, and obligations that need to be met can also seem unbearable at times. Still, I believe there will always be some good in what may all seem bad at the moment. I have found my theoretical orientation - cognitive behavioral therapy has helped many of my previous clients reduce stress levels, cope with untimely life changes such as relationships and other losses, and ultimately feel more grounded within their circumstances. I look forward to assisting you!

My ideal client has a problem that they may not know how to solve. They can have a range of issues including occupational distress, wellness coaching, relationship discord, and/or emotional rationalization. The ideal client would want to establish a clear understanding of the current situation, identify clear goals or transitional plans, and clear steps towards achieving their goals. I also believe that the ideal client would want sincerity, science based psychoeducation, and to feel honored in the therapeutic alliance.

I work with clients across the lifespan who want to better understand themselves or a loved one. I specialize in neuropsychological assessment and therapy for ADHD, autism, learning disorders, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. I believe in “assessment as intervention,” and clients are often surprised by the broad-reaching impact of an assessment. I also provide pre-evaluations and support for those considering psychedelic-assisted therapy. Lastly, I conduct forensic and court-ordered evaluations for disability, parenting, guardianship, and other legal matters, and help clients access accommodations for high-stakes testing.

Hi, and thanks for checking out my page. I'm a couples therapist who practices Emotionally Focused Therapy (an evidence-based practice), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychedelic-assisted therapies. In my career I've seen a lot and worked with many different kinds of people; hence, I'm professional and nonjudgmental. I enjoy being a social worker and therapist for all types of humans, but I specialize in serving queer and TGNC couples. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for couples. I believe being a person is hard, but good relationships help us to heal. At present, I'm unable to take on new 1:1 clients.

I am a psychologist specializing in CBT for anxiety disorders, OCD and depression. CBT is an active therapy that can help you feel better and maximize your potential by overcoming ways of thinking that limit you. As a scientist-practitioner, I am committed to providing treatments that are proven to work, including CBT, mindfulness, ERP and PE. However, psychological science alone is not enough to achieve success in therapy. Successful therapy must draw upon your expertise in your lived experience. For this reason, I will actively collaborate with you to tailor your therapy experience to your unique challenges, strengths, and values.

Forensic Psychology Therapists
How does forensic psychology work?
Forensic psychology works by providing those in the legal system with expert information about psychology and behavior that they wouldn’t otherwise have. Forensic psychologists do this through a range of services—conducting psychological assessments for court cases, assisting police officers with investigations, providing expert opinion, helping with mediation, and providing mental health care to victims or perpetrators of crimes.

Can a forensic psychologist help with child custody cases?
Yes. In the event that it’s needed, an attorney or judge may appoint a forensic psychologist to provide an assessment and recommendation. This process involves multiple interviews with the child, the parent (or parents), and sometimes others. The psychologist assesses the parent’s mental health, strengths and weaknesses, and parenting practices to understand what’s in the child’s best interest. They then complete a report with recommendations based on their assessment.

Do forensic psychologists help solve crimes?
In some cases they do. For example, criminal profiling involves collaborating with law enforcement officers to construct a profile of a perpetrator based on psychology, personality, and behavior as suggested by the crime in order to focus the investigation. They may also offer expert input on subjects related to a case such as deception, false confessions, and the reliability of testimony based on eyewitness accounts.

How long do people typically work with a forensic psychologist?
The length of time an individual works with a forensic psychologist depends on the relevant service. For example, if a forensic psychologist is conducting a psychological assessment for a court case, this may take one to two sessions to complete (although they can be more extensive). If the forensic psychologist is providing therapy to someone accused or convicted of a crime, treatment may last for several months or more.
