Empowering them in a genuine, straightforward, and relaxed atmosphere to step into the brave space where they are able to find their truth, speak it, and live it. My integrative approach is tailored to each client. During this process the client learns how to accept where they are in this moment. Then identifying and making changes to get to where they want to be. This allows them to free themselves from the persistent negative thoughts and societal pressures holding them back from living the life they have always wanted.

You’re conflicted! The profound weight and pressure to decide to make the right decision is shattering you. Your life, well-being, and sanity remain undetermined while you consider your next move. On the one hand, divorce feels like a defeat, a judgment from others, or humiliation. You think about the effects on your family and consider how it will likely be one of the costliest things that you ever endure. On the other hand though, you feel alone, suffocating, drowning, unable to be yourself in your marriage. It feels like you have given your all. This moment is hard, and you worry that no matter what you choose to do, you’ll lose.

Tired of having the same fight over and over? Had enough of the bickering and the blowups, the fights over things you can’t remember, the lack of communication? Truly, it’s time to learn a new way to do this. Look – relationships are hard. They take work. If you’re struggling in your intimate relationship (or family, or social life), there’s nothing wrong with you. It’s normal to struggle. But why keep spinning your wheels? There are people out there who can guide you through the challenges of relationships and build something awesome. I’m one of those people. And I’d love to help you get where you want to go.

I am an exceptional listener, mentor and guide who works with people dealing with depression, mood disorders, anxiety, and addiction. My practice is patient-centered: I am trained in a number of treatment modalities, but they can only be effective if an honest, trusting relationship is forged between me and my patient. Creating that relationship cannot be one-sided; it must be collaborative. My first order of business when meeting a new client is to begin developing trust on both sides. I ask questions. I listen. I offer honest feedback. I keep my mind and heart open.

The hurts of the past are making it harder and harder to function let alone find happiness. The present has lost meaning and things you used to love no longer satisfy. You fear your best days are behind you. You long for something else, something more but don't know what it is or how to get there. You feel you will never measure up. You fear you will never be enough.

We often go about our lives with a very limited scope, moving from one problem to the next. As a therapist, I try to help people look at the big picture. When we zoom out and look at things… like where we’ve been, where we think we’re going, the people we carry with us, how we’re affected by time and our bodies changing, the systems we’re a part of, the ways we’re deeply interconnected… it helps us understand our current experience of the world. It brings our attention to what’s pulling us away from the good in the here and now.

I have experience and work with those that have undergone traumatic encounters. I believe that healing comes from addressing the traumas and confronting the difficulties that come from them, such as unhealthy boundaries and maladaptive coping. I utilize a mindfulness and strengths-based approach in addition to creating a stabilizing and safe environment to be able to process and deal with the emotions that result from the extremes of traumas that we experience. I tend to use action and coaching-oriented skills focusing on the behavioral aspects of management of stress and coping with the chronic impacts of trauma and relationships.

There can sometimes be subtle or significant difficulty internally and externally navigating wellness. Disruption in peace and wellness can look like disorganization or even excessive organization. Recognizing and coping with stressors can be difficult for some people; some have learned to cope and sometimes forget or outgrow coping skills. My approach to therapy prioritizes the mind, body, and spirit relationship. Therapy with me includes cultural and ethnic history and practices. I prioritize facilitating brave spaces to support individuals in courageous healing.

Often times when people come to therapy, what they've already tried hasn't quite made them feel, think, or behave in the ways they'd hope. Regardless, people typically already have some means for dealing with challenges they encounter. Therapy is a place for expanding your approaches & gaining new tools to help you navigate your current predicament(s). If you're hoping to change the ways you're feeling, thinking, and/or responding to a stressor, I believe that you will find my therapeutic approach meaningful.
