Many of my clients know what they “should” do but still feel stuck. You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you’re constantly worrying, avoiding important decisions, struggling in your relationships, or navigating a major life transition. Sometimes financial stress is only one part of the story. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Financial Therapist, I help adults understand the emotional patterns behind anxiety, financial stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Thinking about your journey in life in terms of how you decided that you were going to do some self-reflecting and self-care required you to be open and honest, which is an important step and takes courage. I have been working with individuals in depth who are experiencing depression, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and patterns of family dysfunction. Using a strength perspective model and client/therapist collaborative approach, sessions are geared towards individuals’ goals regarding specific mental health needs.

Mary Oliver asked, “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” I would like to help you access whatever that opens up for you. Do you long to feel more at ease within yourself, with others? I use evidence-based practices including EMDR, CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing, tailored to your specific needs to effectively help you get the relief and progress needed. I have over a decade of experience weaving together the interventions that work in a creative way (I also offer art therapy interventions if that's a fit for you). I have a lot of possibilities to try with you, and I'd like to offer fresh hope!

My approach is relational and intensive. As an existential therapist, I believe there are core human struggles: connection, choice, mortality, and meaning. Beneath the surface, most what brings clients to me is a struggle with one or all of these. Together clients and I look at factors shaping their experience to find what needs to change for a more fulfilling life. I specialize in work with men, those with relationship difficulties, in recovery, life transitions, and religious trauma.

Limited Openings available - Taking the step to engage in therapy is one of courage and vulnerability. My experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and stress. I work to meet each person where they are in order to provide the best support and interventions for them. It is not an easy process and no timeline can be given, however I believe that you can achieve your goals, improve your symptoms and make change to improve yourself.

First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perception of situations.

Let’s face it, life has a tendency to wear us all down--be it the death of a loved one, illness, traumatic experiences, or even just the demands of everyday life. As a result, we might find ourselves plagued by chronic stress, anxiety, or depression. Perhaps you find yourself feeling hopeless, trapped, or isolated. Maybe you’ve felt as though you've been merely surviving life, instead of actually living it. If so, know that you are not alone, and change is possible! I’m extremely passionate and dedicated to helping my clients heal, improve their lives, and reach their personal goals.

Instead of chasing the next big thing to make you happy, consider the possibility of first freeing yourself from the things that aren’t truly you. If you are willing to engage in this process with me then the results can be profound. You'll start to connect to and express your authentic self. You’ll respond instead of just reacting to challenging life situations. You’ll increase your sense of inner peace, improve your self-worth, better your health, and strengthen your relationships. I have 23 years of experience helping people, of all ages and from all walks of life, Begin Within to attain self-acceptance, fulfillment, and joy.
