My hope is that in visiting this page you are on the first step of offering yourself a new approach to the challenges you are facing. It means a lot to be heard and no one likes to feel lonely or alone. That is the beauty I believe in the therapeutic process— a bond with an unbiased, non-judgmental person who listens. I aim to offer you just that! My belief is that caring for our mental health is vital in living well and asking for help is a part of that.
I know it's not all my fault, but why can't I stop feeling that way? Why can't I forget what happened? How do I hold onto hope in a world with so much suffering? What does making a difference even mean? These are some of the most difficult questions that plague us; that drive the tightness in our chest, the tension our jaw, the churning in our stomach. However, our minds, bodies, and communities also have incredibly resilient ways of adapting. In therapy, I help clients understand and leverage the ways their minds and bodies react to regain control of their lives.
I am currently accepting new clients! In therapy, I use a combination of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (with a few other therapy styles mixed in). I primarily help clients develop coping strategies for stressors, work through issues from their past and create and actionable plan to help deal with mental health concerns. We'll look at the thoughts and emotions that come up when you're feeling anxious or depressed, and we'll see what drives those emotions, be it past trauma, current worries or something else. Though if meditation isn’t for you, that’s okay as well!
Mingxin(Ming) is passionate about providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself openly and freely. Therefore, Ming works collaboratively with clients and customizes her approach to meet your unique needs and preferences.
Sometimes we get so busy with the stress and fast-paced movement of daily life that when we finally come up for air, we realize we're living a life in accordance to others' wants and needs. We may have normalized parts of our lives we dislike, and now feel unsure or unworthy of who we are or what we want. Therapy is a process in which we work together to create space for you to slow down and unpack all of the beliefs, burdens, expectations, identities, fears, and hopes you hold; to assess what works and let go of what no longer serves you, to review who you've been and cultivate the person you want to be.
“Meet people where they are before you take them where they need to go.” That is my core approach to counseling and I look forward to building a collaborative relationship with you. If you are facing problems in everyday living, emotional needs, constant conflict with people, or facing more severe life experiences such as trauma, reach out so we can speak. The benefit of counseling is knowing you are not alone. And remember, You’re not in the past, the past is in you.
My goal is to help you feel heard, supported and understood. Whether you are coming to therapy to navigate difficult life changes, in order to set healthy boundaries, for support in reframing your anxious thoughts, thinking through how your past family dynamics affect you or navigating your identity, I am here to offer encouraging guidance, direct engagement and nurturing support. Therapy is a collaborative process and I take a relational approach to support you in expressing yourself authentically, navigating change, reframing negative self talk, setting healthy boundaries and supporting you in enhancing the way you cope.

You are too hard on yourself, holding yourself to unrealistic standards. Others tell you you are “too sensitive” and “overly emotional,” or you hold your emotions in tightly to protect yourself. You feel stuck in your life and relationships, getting in your own way with the negative, self-defeating stories you tell yourself. I believe that people are inherently resilient. Using a supportive and empowering approach, I work with individuals to tap into their inner resources, learning new coping strategies and coming to better understanding themselves and their relationships in order to move forward and reach their full potential.

Accepting new clients! Are you experiencing stressful changes and feeling unsure of how to navigate the unknown? Have you been hit hard by trauma or grief and find it difficult to stand up again? Are you and your partner dealing with issues in your relationship? If so, you've come to the right place. Therapy is not easy, and change is not linear. In a society that says no to vulnerability, therapy is one of the most courageous yet rewarding journeys that one can take. That said, changes are not always the focus of therapy. Sometimes, we need therapy simply because life’s adversities are not supposed to be dealt with alone!
Psychotherapy is a space to bring all the facets of your being for nonjudgmental exploration and compassionate inquiry. In therapy we collaborate to create a safe environment for your self-driven healing and change, and bring attention to your strengths, wounds, protective mechanisms, resources, and creativity. Engaging in the work of building insight into and tolerance for emotional and embodied experiences can lead to positive change in our lives and closer relationships with ourselves and others. In these ways therapy is a rewarding investment.
