Pre-pregnancy, the fertility journey, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and all aspects of motherhood and fertility hold a special place in my personal and professional heart.
When meeting any client, I am excited to hear their stories and join them on their journey. I love supporting individuals and families who are growing and changing and adjusting, as this is a significant and intense time. Transition in any form is something that I love to focus on, because with transition, comes growth. Sometimes a helping hand is the most useful. Contact me to find out about my in-home services

I enjoy working with those considering pregnancy, pregnant, postpartum, as well as those grieving in their reproductive journeys from fertility challenges and loss.
Do you react to experiences in a way that doesn’t make sense? You feel a lot, or nothing at all? Mostly, you want to feel differently. I use creativity and curiosity to help you shift into a state of healing and change. My hope is to help you make sense of your experiences, strengthen your resiliency, and engage your innate capacity to heal and thrive. I work well with individuals who are open to including art, movement, brainspotting, and other expressive modalities.

I integrate practices from trauma processing, attachment/family-of-origin healing, perinatal mental health, NARM and brainspotting.
Welcome. If you are looking to deepen your relationship with yourself and others, to heal from complexities of life, to nourish yourself and help cultivate a life that is full and abundant, then I am glad we found one another. Often we get swept up in the “go, go, go” nature of society only to detach and shut down at the end of the day. I believe we can experience something much different. I believe we can find ease, joy, creativity, confidence, peace and deep fulfillment in our lives, by reconnecting with our inner spark and letting it guide us to self-healing.

Over the course of my career I have become increasingly aware of a demand in the community for Sex Therapy, and have decided to recalibrate my practice accordingly. I am engaged in a comprehensive training program facilitated by the Sexual Health Alliance on my path to becoming an AASECT-certified Sex Therapist. My background in substance abuse and trauma has largely informed this decision. I continue to serve individuals seeking to manage compulsive behaviors, AD(H)D, anxiety disorders, and mood symptoms through this transition to a sex-centered practice.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
