My name is Mayra Castro and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Woodbridge, Virginia. I will be working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with children, adolescents, and families. I work with youth and families experiencing depression, anxiety, exposure to trauma, recent migration to the U.S., and addiction to substances. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused, and Narrative Therapy to help my clients reach their goals and make notable progress on their mental health journey.
My communication style is calm, accommodating, humorous, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I also pride myself in adding a light humorous energy to the session as appropriate to allow clients to have fun and laugh a little during the session.
As a second-generation Latino, I became a therapist because I have always wanted to reduce stigma and lend a helping hand to the community. I have made it my mission to deliver quality mental health support to those in need and help heal one life at a time. I enjoy seeing individuals and families grow and become the best versions of themselves.
