Hello! My name is Mayra Almanza and I am a formerly undocumented LMFT. My goal in therapy is to identify the different areas of your life that are being impacted and ensure that we find direction while not forgetting that there are many areas that need focus. Currently, my focus is on supporting individuals and couples in need of reproductive mental health. I take a holistic and client-centered approach in your sessions. I tend to use a more cognitive behavioral approach by discussing thoughts and feelings and working to challenge those when appropriate.
Therapy is my passion and my purpose, through the relationships and the work with my clients, I feel that I am making a difference and leaving a mark in the world. Therapy is a collaborative process and I include clients in identifying what they are needing and allow them to set goals for themselves, bringing my clinical expertise as needed.
Our first session will consist of me explaining the therapeutic process to you and what you can expect from me during our time together. I want to hear what brought you to therapy and what is currently leading you to seek out support. I will take a few sessions to get more background information and get to know you better, to better support you in our work.
