I believe anyone can change, can find their own personal happiness in life. Every one has the capacity to create the life they want for themselves and the path of healing is open to anyone ready to make the first step. However, many of us need a helping hand to walk that path. I help by building upon people's unique strengths to meet their specific goals and this is the foundation of my practice. Mindfulness, acceptance, self compassion and brain science are used to help people understand their own thoughts, actions and behaviors in order to identify effective interventions. By building resilience and understanding, we heal.
I have been working with adults, children and families in social services for almost 15 years. I work with youth of all ages and stages as well as parents and caregivers to improve family functioning as a whole. I provide gender affirming treatment to trans and questioning youth as well as support to youth and families of our wonderful LGBTQIA+ community.
I believe that empathy and non-judgmental acceptance of others experiences is required in order to understand their perspectives in life, that every perspective is unique and valid.
