Maya Zelio
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
Are you struggling with unexpected twist and turns in your life? Need a quiet place to talk things over? I'm glad you are seeking therapy for yourself or your loved one because it means that you are a person who wants to look deeper into yourself and make positive changes. We can figure out what is standing in the way of you feeling your best. There is tremendous value in self-awareness and it is often the first step towards feeling better. We can work to help you feel more in control of your path. I look forward to hearing your story and working together to get to the place where you feel more confident in your decisions.
I specialize in depression in older adults, caregivers and the sandwich generation--adults balancing raising their own family with the needs of an aging parent. Aging can be filled with stressful transitions, difficult decision making and unexpected physical and emotional changes, and it is inevitable that all family members will be impacted emotionally.
It is never too early or late for self-care, no matter what your age. The hardest part is often taking that first step and acknowledging you may want to ask for help. My hope is to provide you with a place where it's ok not to know the answer, but where you might see things more clearly. You don't have to be alone on your journey.
