Sometimes people think their reactions to their experiences don’t “make sense.” In therapy together, I am here to witness your story and help you put the puzzle pieces together. Your reactions do make sense. Our brains are highly adaptive and everything they do is with the goal of protecting and taking care of us. Sometimes, however, our reactions to our past experiences aren’t helpful to us, despite our brains' best attempts to take care of us.
Through therapy, these reactions can be worked through, adjusted to be more helpful to you, and/or replaced with new, more constructive reactions and skills. I will not shame you or try to sweep your thoughts and feelings under the rug. Let’s talk it out! Take back your voice and power. I see therapy as a place to make sense of your story:

Groups
LGBTQ+ and Allies Teen Community Group
This group is for queer teens looking for an uplifting community and positive vibes! Many (if not most) teens feel alone and misunderstood, and queer teens in particular are at risk of lacking a supportive community. Join us every Tuesday evening for fun activities centered around reducing stress, increasing emotion regulation skills, and self-acceptance, self-compassion, and empowerment. Our goal is for teens to leave this group with an awareness of their values, recognition of their many strengths, and an assortment of coping skills. Bring your big emotions, wear comfy clothes, and come prepared for some exploration! $10/group
