I assume you're here because you're struggling in some way, and that whatever you've been doing in your life to deal with your pain simply isn't working any longer. So you've hit a kind of impasse, and you're unable to work around the pain, manage it, ignore it. My clients usually find me through some kind of loss - a divorce or relationship upset, an illness or other transitional experience - often accompanied by difficult feelings and behaviors. Taken together, the result is a crisis of meaning and a radical disruption of the status quo of their lives.
I specialize in relationship issues, mid-life transitions, addictions and resolution of emotional trauma. Initially drawn to mitigate symptoms of such crises-the feelings and behaviors-my clients discover lifetime patterns conditioned from childhood. This exploration radically alters their outlook, deepens their experience of self/loved ones, and creates lives rich with meaning and soulfulness.
For 34 years I've been working in private practice with adults and couples, in Asia (Singapore), and now in San Rafael. I use EMDR, in which I'm certified, within attachment-based therapy to facilitate the resolution of trauma. I am deeply familiar with the stresses of expatriate life and repatriation and co-author of The New Couple (HarperSF).
