Anxiety, Somatization, Trauma, Depression, Grief, Overwhelming Feelings, Relationships... these are a few of the issues that may lead someone to consider a professional who can support and assist with core concerns. I specialize in treating the human condition from a holistic perspective, always honoring the uniqueness of each individual and respecting their way of "being" in the world. Our aim together will be to explore and find revelations, resolutions,and solutions. Using a psychoanalytic approach, we will bring to light the driving forces behind the repetitive behaviors that tend to keep us attached to repeated outcomes.
A working artist myself, I especially like to help creative persons - Artists, Adolescents with creative potential (often stifled by mainstream education), as well as those who have gone through to adulthood without ever experiencing creative fulfillment, to become unblocked and have access to their fullest creative expression and potential.
My experience encompasses treating people with anxiety, somatizion, addictions (including dual diagnosis), bipolar disorder, BPD, PTSD, low self-esteem, co-dependency, gender identity and LGBT issues. Artists are, by nature, "A Different Breed of Cat"... Good news...You have to be! During the creative process, emotional issues often arise, especially for women. These issues include: Anxiety, Creative Block, Fear, Spontaneity (or lack thereof!), PROCRASTINATION, as well as themes of low self-esteem, high self-doubt, and poor self-promotion... Just one of these appearing in your creative thought process/mechanism, can often undermine your entire artistic output. We will attempt, and succeed, in taming that aforementioned "Cat" to stop chasing mice (distractions) and instead, learn how to place emphasis on the work of ARTISTIC PRODUCTION.
