Just the fact that you are on this website indicates that there is some part of you that wants help with overcoming challenges in your life. I am a compassionate and caring clinical psychologist with specialized training in trauma/PTSD assessment and treatment, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and eating disorders. My primary approach involves cognitive-behavioral therapy which utilizes well-researched and empirically supported treatment protocols. Despite the pain you may be in now, the good news is there are treatments that work!
The particular approach I use to treat PTSD is Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE). Numerous well-controlled studies over the past two decades have shown that PE significantly reduces the symptoms of PTSD as well as co-morbid symptoms of depression, anger and anxiety.
I grew up in Kailua, Oahu and returned after several years on the mainland to raise my family here. As a result, I am familiar with the unique culture in Hawaii. I also have a great deal of experience in working with service members and their families.
