In my general psychology practice since 1996, I have served individuals, couples and family members with many different challenges. I am happy to talk by phone to answer any questions you may have before making a first appointment. My style is collaborative and respectful, starting with a thorough assessment. I use a variety of approaches (e.g., Relational Life Therapy, EMDR, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic) to understand problems, solutions, and actions needed for assisting my clients. It is a privilege to be an ally for clients as they gain insights and make powerful changes.
My professional focus areas include Relationships, Couples, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, Life Changes, Communication, Childhood Issues, Introversion, and the impact of societal ills (e.g. Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, and Economic Problems). As a certified EMDR practitioner, I also use EMDR (www.emdr.com) to help resolve negative experiences.
I trained in the scientist-practitioner model of psychology. This prepared me to be both a therapist and researcher, combining these skills for evidence-based practice and seeking constant clinical improvements.
