The journey toward recovery from addiction is difficult, but worth the struggle. That's where I come in. I see my role as a collaborator in your recovery. I believe that much of the knowledge for a successful recovery is within you, and with the support of therapy a set of tools can be developed to increase your chances of success. My practice is an alternative to 12 step programs, and centers around helping you shift your thoughts and behaviors connected with the addiction, and make better decisions based on your personal values. Together we develop a relapse prevention plan to cope with potential pitfalls.
Significant others need support too, often suffering silently while the addicted person faces life's struggles. I pay attention to their challenges, as they cope with their loved one's challenges and try to manage their daily lives. I offer professionally led groups for anyone impacted by addiction.
Lastly, I provide guidance for those trying to navigate the myriad of options in the addiction treatment field. My 20 years of experience as a clinician and director of addiction and recovery programs in NYC aid me in helping you choose a path that best fits your needs.
