Some of us walk through life with a pervasive shadow of depression. We may experience frequent bouts of anxiety, or the overwhelming grief of a personal loss. We may not be able to shake our persistent negative thoughts, shame, worthlessness. We may live with intrusive thoughts that we cannot make sense of, and feel that the treatment being offered to us (often medication alone) doesn't address the deeper nature of our experiences, but simply masks symptoms temporarily. Or we may just feel stuck; like we're moving through the same old patterns, the ups and downs, barely holding on.
I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults across many settings - office, school, hospital, and community. I am honored to be a part of this work - with individuals, couples, and families - and maintain a special sensitivity for cultural, spiritual/religious, and other aspects of what makes us unique.
I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness-based practices. My orientation is person-centered, humanistic, and experiential, and my goal is to help you find relief from unhelpful patterns and move into a deeper and more meaningful experience of life.
