Across the lifespan, we encounter stressors of all kinds. Our moods, anxiety levels, thinking, and behaviors can depend on how well we are able to manage these stressors over time. Sometimes, regardless of our age, the coping skills we've learned and developed let us down. Utilizing a primarily psychodynamic approach, my goal in therapy is to help you experience your life (including the good and bad aspects) in a real and authentic way, grounded in self-awareness and insight, so that you can better manage your feelings, thinking, and behavior.
With children I utilize play therapy, which can help children gain awareness, feel understood and empowered, resolve ongoing developmental dilemmas, and work toward individuation and healthy development. With adolescents and adults, I provide talk therapy that can be highly helpful in either an exploratory or supportive fashion.
At Samaritan Center of Puget Sound, we provide treatment that focuses on the whole person: mind, body, and soul. As an expression of God's love and compassion, we seek to restore hope, reconcile relationships and participate in the transformation of lives. We accept clients of all faiths and beliefs.
