Hello! My name is Matthew Mendoza and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Over the years of working with my clients I have found that the most crucial factor in making changes is the therapeutic alliance. The therapeutic alliance is how comfortable the client feels opening up with their therapist. Which is why I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental place for you to share. On top of this, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches based on the presenting issues and your personality; always keeping in mind what will work best for you.
The modalities that I specialize in are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT),(which targets behaviors and thoughts and how they influence our emotions and feelings) Attachment Therapy, (focuses on building attachments with loved ones) as well as Family Systems Therapy (focuses on family dynamics and changing them to reduce symptoms).
I believe that engaging in therapy will allow you to grow and experience the change you desire authentically. If you feel we may be a good fit please feel free to contact me to schedule an appointment by either phone or email.
